Oppo has introduced its new A5 Pro 5G in India. This device has two models, including an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version as well as an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. It comes with a robust design, enhanced durability, and it is positioned as a rugged mid-range device. It boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H-2022 military certification, offering substantial protection against drops, dust, and submersion.
To further reinforce its durability, the A5 Pro 5G features an aluminum alloy frame and a display covered by reinforced double-tempered glass. According to Oppo, this improves drop resistance by 160%, making the device particularly suited for users who require extra toughness in everyday use.
Large display with high refresh rate
The phone comes with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display, offering a resolution of 1604 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Oppo claims the panel can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits, ensuring visibility even in bright outdoor settings. While the resolution remains modest for the screen size, the high refresh rate may appeal to users prioritizing smooth scrolling and responsive interaction.
Powering the A5 Pro 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The phone includes 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and is available in two UFS 2.2 storage configurations—128GB and 256GB. It also features a vapor chamber for thermal management, suggesting the device is designed to handle moderate multitasking and gaming loads without overheating.
Battery life is another focus for the device, with a 5800mAh battery capacity. The phone supports 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging, aiming to reduce downtime for users who need a quick power boost during the day.
On the back, the A5 Pro 5G includes a dual-camera system consisting of a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor and a 2MP monochrome depth sensor. The rear camera can capture 1080p video at up to 60fps. On the front is an 8MP camera, capable of shooting 720p video at 30fps.
The device is available in two finishes: Mocha Brown with a matte texture and Feather Blue with a feather-patterned gradient and Oppo Glow technology for scratch resistance. In terms of pricing, the 8GB/128GB model is sells for ₹17,999 (about $211), while the 8GB/256GB model is going for ₹19,999 (about $234).
