After quite a few months, we’re finally starting to see some traction on the Chinese tablet scene.
I still use an Aoson M11 bought in June 2012; it works like a charm. There was support from the factory in the initial months (back when Android was in its 4.x versions), and a buzzing community helped later.
Nonetheless, back to the present, there’s some seriously powerful tablets being offered that can help get some serious work done while on the move. More importantly, prices have come down to a level that doesn’t require you to be an early adopter or a die-hard Chinese tech fan to be able to get one, although it’s always nice to have that sort of people around.
Gizchina News of the week
The Teclast X80 Plus is the newest budget tablet on the block. It’s priced a hair under $100 for poetry’s sake, and offers a decent bang-for-your-buck… at least on paper.
The tablet has an 8-inch 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display (they don’t seem to be playing the ‘retina’ card this time round), and with that comes an Intel Atom X5-Z8300 x86 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB on-board storage, a 2 mega-pixel rear camera, a 0.3 mega-pixel front facing camera and a 3800mAh battery, that does seem a little below par capacity.
The tablet is on pre-sale for $99 for now, but should start shipping in a little over two weeks.
why do cameras suck 🙁 !
and no dual boot ?!
Because USD$ 99.99
Windows 7 basic by it self was $59.99 and I mean just the DVD s with the OS on it.
That was a retail license, OEM licenses which are made for hardware manufacturers (no CD, no sticker, just a serial key valid for one device) cost around $18 now I think, maybe even less.
I guess it’s safe to assume that this device costs around $80-$85 and the rest is the price of the windows license.
is dual boot expensive to implement on hardware ?
It shouldn’t be, but labor is ;-). Then again at $99 they are throwing a lot in the mix. I believe is a fair price. if I had the need of a tablet this could be for me. (But I don’t)
nice…
Stop using windows and make decent tablets with plain android and gnu/linux!!!!
Why no FHD screen?
no need for windows, android or cyanogen mod would be better.
Link to product at a good price, can someone come in handy.

Is it possible to use only one of the operating systems and delete the other one? If yes, is there a possibility to restore the dual boot after deleting one of the Operating Systems?
