Elephone are saying that their Elephone Ivory is the most cost effective octacore phone on the market today, while this might not be true here are the full specs.
Elephone might have been making low-cost phones for years already, but they have only recently really made a push in to the sub $100 scene.
Their first phone (well real phone) to cost less than $100 retail is the new Elephone Ivory, an octacore device with 5-inch display that Elephone says is the most cost effective 8 core phone on the market today.
Elephone Ivory Specs
First up it’s good to see that the Elephone Ivory isn’t simply a knock off of a Meizu M2 or Redmi Phone like we have seen from other phone makers, but it does look a little ‘Ulefone’ inspired with a grey rear panel option and curved 2.5D display upfront.
Gizchina News of the week
Elephone have tried to make the Ivory as down to earth as possible, so you won’t see a fingerprint scanner, hear rate monitor, eye unlock or other gimmicks. Instead the phone comes with a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, and Mediatek MT6753 chipset running at 1.3Ghz.
According to the official Elephone Ivory specifications page, the phone also boasts a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, dual micro SIM support and a 2800mAh battery. FM radio and LTE bands 1/3/7 and 20 are supported too.
Elephone state that the Elephone Ivory is up for pre-order now for $99.99, that’s the retail price, and as they suggest that it will make a good Christmas gift we hope that they orders will be shipped quickly.
It will be interesting to see how well the Elephone Ivory does at $99.99, as the UMi Rome sells for a similar price with AMOLED display, 3GB RAM and fingerprint scanner. Which would you choose?
They would make better phones than rivals at that price. Looking forward to user reviews.
They would make cheaper phones. Cheaper doesn’t mean better.
I never said cheaper. I’ve used a couple of Elephones and two Umis and from my experience. Elephone is definitely better.
emax mini beats a large majority of elephones …
Have you used it Yasir? Bar TCL sourced models Umi phones are generally poor.
lol … i havent .
but reviews are uniform throughout … not too many shambles , as compared to what we usually see in elephone.
Reviews really don’t prove shit u know. You buy a phone. Use it for two weeks. Review it. Then 3 months later the phone stops charging, or fingerprint sensor stops working or the camera dies. How many reviewers will update this. I went online and discovered alot of Umi users are sourcing for camera for their phones….why? Because their camera died on them. Who makes such phone????? Yea….ur right… UMI.
Emax Mini is TCL based.
my condolences then … a phone dying without being rugged is a phone going too early.
guess i will cross umi off my list then…
nah tcl phones have great build , but they dont know hot to market themselves , Umi cant fk this up on the build because they didnt do it , On the other side , SOFTWARE…
He doesnt have a phone.
lol it means the exact opposite
wtf ?! Umi Rome doesnt HAVE a fingerprint scanner ?!
What do you expect for a a phone that can be bought for under $100 online?
no .. im pointing out a mistake by andi…
he wrote that in the article.
i guess the question mark in the end gave it away … eh ?
it’s really really sad… this site is making more and more flaws. even andi seems to be more concerned to get out “news” really fast rather than to make them correct ones. you guys are in desperate need of an editor, you really are. this is getting annoying.
