Russian phone buyers apparently cannot get enough of the Doogee X5, with the company shipping 20,000 units every month!
If you have ever wondered how Doogee manage to keep making money, then the answer might just lie in Russia. Apparently the phone maker is seeing huge success in Russia with their budget Doogee X5 model with an estimated 20,000 units of the phone sold each month.
Gizchina News of the week
If you can’t quite place the Doogee X5, it is a 5-inch phone with a design not dissimilar to the Xiaomi Mi Note, but made of plastic and available in a range of bright colour options. The X5 is aimed at customers on a a budget and specs are modes with just 1GB RAM, 8GB memory, and 5 mega-pixel main camera.
Pricing of the Doogee X5 in Russia is 1999RUB which is only $30, while other buyers around the world need to pay around $60 for the phone.
We are using the x5 as work phone /pda and they are extremely good for price. The biggest surprise was the GPS that’s faster and more accurate than my oneplus-one. We get them from. Amazon £47 delivered with case.
On photos it’s Ukraine!!! 1 hrivnya is 3 rubles! As somebody who can read english, you can notice the big letters somedomain.ua on the tram. .ua is for Ukraine.
All .UA tells you is the website is registered in the Ukraine, it could be a website for anywhere in the world that’s just were the domain is registered. But those photo’s are from the Ukraine as Citrus and Ringo are Ukrainian companies.
Don’t know about the companies, but considering Russia and Ukraine relationship, a tram in Russia would never have a domain name ending with .UA written all over it. For me it was obvious because of the price indicated in Грн (hrivnia) and not Руб (rubles).
My only point was you can’t base it just on the domain name (.ua). Nothing more nothing less.
Well, I didn’t.
I am not even sure what you are trying “to be right about” here.
I know what a domain and software is, I’m Unix systems engineer with 9 years of experience. I didn’t just say about .UA domain, I specified that’s it’s written on a tram from the beginning. I don’t believe you’ll ever find another country (other than Ukraine) with trams being dressed in such domains.
Again your arguing against yourself here. Let me know when you finish.
Sorry that you see it that way, I just tried to make things more clear as you seemed to be confused what I try to say.
I wasn’t confused at all. I was pointing out a simple fact and then you went off on a tangent about lord knows what.
Master Putin says Ukraine is actually part of Mother Russia… I can’t blame Gizchina for not wanting to upset The Man Who Rides Grizzlies Just For Fun… He could just nuke China’s main oems on a whim just to take revenge on us! D:
Maybe it’s being used as burner phones for various Russian gang activities… Here.. Just kidding…
Proof that a sucker is born every minute….
Even though there is clearly a mistake in the article and the photos are made in Ukraine, I really paid only $30 for this phone on JD when they were selling it with a huge discount. I don’t really need it, just could not resist that price.. gonna play with it and sell for $50. 🙂
In Mother Russia, real men buy doogee’s phones, so they have something to shoot at while training with ak47s, granates and bazookas!
In Mother Russia, friend, real men buy doogee’s phones as fuel for nuclear power station, and, of course, as food for the bears, which they drink vodka.
Where did you find such a price. I’m from Rissia and bought it at jd.com for the full price.
it’s in Ukraine. 1999 grn ~ 5962 rubles ~ 84.80 USD. Overpriced for X5, imo.
I guess they provide local warranty.
Sure, they only provide local greed.
It’s Ukraine! Not Russia!!! 1999 UAH is ≈ 84 USD!
если бы Doogee X5 у нас продавался по $30, мы бы вам его назад продавали по $50)
It’s Ukraine! Not Russia!!!
I’m sorry guys. But this is Ukraine – not Russia
