Despite not being known for making kernel sources open, brands like Elephone, Oukitel, etc. do manage to get some decent 3rd party support.

Today’s news is that the K6000 now has a CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM going for it… which is already available for download.

What makes the K6000 exist is the massive 6000mAh battery it has on board.

Other specifications of the K6000 include a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage, an 8 mega-pixel camera (interpolated to 13 mega-pixel) and 2 mega-pixel front camera (interpolated to 5 mega-pixel).

Like every other big battery phone out there, the K6000 too supports reverse-charging.

Coming back to the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM, you can download it by following this link. Do let us know if you own a K6000 and if you’re planning to flash the new ROM it just got!

They need to bring out the K6000 Pro.

CM is a good thing and it opens up development for other operating systems, like those using Libhybris as their wrapper/stub.

3 months later…they already showed the K6000 Pro , but not a single word for K6000 Premium. I guess we’ll wait another 2 months for it

yeah … but that premium model is the ESSENTIAL topping on a delicious cake !
Oukitel NEED that phone to show they’re trying to cater to power users too !

Agree, I think they’re still a relatively small company and can’t produce bew phones that fast. Pro will be available till the end of this month and the Premium is expected to come not before May, June or even July.

    Yes and No.
Love the phone though, if I ever get mugged I’m going to smack them round the head with it.

Someone on FB Giz Core has just pointed out this is actually “a really bad HTC rom, nothing to do with Cyanogenmod”. So I’d avoid until verified.
