If you are on one of the supported Xiaomi devices eligible for an OTA update then watch our for MIUI 7.1 heading to your device from 5th January.
Xiaomi will begin rolling our MIUI 7.1 to certain devices from tomorrow. The update is said to include some new features, although a change log for the system hasn’t been released at the time of writing.
Eligible device for the update are:

- Xiaomi Mi4
- Xiaomi Mi Note
- Mi4i
- Redmi Note 4G
- Redmi 2
- Redmi Note Prime
- Redmi Note 2
- Redmi Note 3G
- Xiaomi Mi Pad
To get the update you will need to be on a stable version of MIUI, if not then you would need to head over to the MIUI forums and manually download the update.

They are not kidding you. They have been known to do this in the past, supporting older phones first. Note 3 will get it in time as will Mi4c.
