Another leak showing a purported Xiaomi Mi5 design, but this time its the rear of the phone that we see with fingerprint scanner and laser focus.
We’ve seen plenty of images showing the front of the Xiaomi Mi5, we even got a really good look at the front earlier today in leaked hands on photos, but this is the first look at the rear.
Obviously we cannot guarantee that these images are the real deal, but they do look fairly similar in design to what Xiaomi have done with the Redmi 3 and Redmi Note 3.
Gizchina News of the week
If earlier reports are true then this will be one of the variants of the Xiaomi Mi5 (read more details here) and has a rear fingerprint scanner rather than a front scanner seen in other images.
Above the fingerprint scanner are three more circles, two are obviously for the rear 16 mega-pixel camera, and LED flash while the third is likely a laser for fast focus.
This version of the Xiaomi Mi5 appears to be the the flat screened model, and apparently this is the version with 4GB RAM and 64GB memory, but again this is unconfirmed and might change.
On a personal note, if this is the rear of the Xiaomi Mi5 then I’m going to wait and see the rear of the curved glass model before I put my name down on any presale. If its as ghastly as this though I’m out!
looks like a Xiaomi MI2 with fingerprint scanner
It looks like the redmi note 3 with flash and speaker from galaxy s3
Nobody is that stupid at this level
My butcher can make more realistic renders than those with Microsoft Paint! ?
However, i may be a strange one (I surely am), but i don’t dislike it at all… Or maybe it’s just that I’d like to see a black mi5 without have to wait 6 months and an higher price “just because” ?
I’m like 50/50 as long as it isn’t bulky
I like it a lot actually, especially the curved back and the fact that it is not the boring silver color we are seeing with most alloy phones. It’s probably faker than an Elephone announcement but I do like it.
Looks like a jiayu s3.
Nope the Jiayu S3 looked nicer than that.
S3 looked a lot more generic and boring than this. This at least has some lines to break up the drabness.
Looks bulky.
It is a fake.
Probably best to wait for Huawei Nexus 6P with Snapdragon 820 processor.
Why is that best? Personally I prefer MIUI to stock Android, and depending on the pricing the Mi5 could be cheaper.
I love MIUI but its too bloated. There are so many stock apps that you cant be disabled without root.
The image is so grainy and old looking it’s probably from one of those 13MP phones balcobomber25 has.
Could be I have used some horrible 13mp sensors that look like this and like the Elephone Vowney.
Owned
This is about the 10th “leaked” image of the Mi5, most have looked completely different. Xiaomi is one of those companies where the leaks often look nothing like the phone. But I actually like this design better than some I have seen.
aint shit …
probably another phone
plain and a bit uninspired? sure.
ghastly? no.
Agree.
Where is the dual tone flash on this phone? That I why I call fake on this because Xiaomi even on some of there cheaper phone have a dual tone flash
Could be a dual LED flash, tough to tell by the image.
do not think dual led flash is “better”… it’s a compromise because they use 2 LED, one with warm light (5500K)… it’d be much better to have a single LED of pure white (exactly 5500K).
Sure. Declare your passion or hatred for a device not yet presented based on two (leaked or even faked?!?) images. I don’t mind your article on what supposedly shows what could be the back of the new xiaomi flagship but please, show some god damn restraint and wait for hands on pictures before making sense- and worthless statements based on what right now is essentially (next to) nothing. And make the head line less attention seeking – if your opinion at the end really is meant as just that (a personal note), the headline of your article clearly isn’t the place for it. Please and thank you.
rear is just the rear, i kinda dig the design…then again i was one of the few who liked the look of the acer liquid e2’s rear and the overall design of the xiaomi mi3
something i always liked on smartphones is thinness and glass back, sorta sony’s design language of the z ultra
That looks more like the Redmi Note 3 Pro Snapdragon than an Mi
