Gionee makes a lot of phones every year, many of which land in various markets worldwide through its OEM partners.
However, in the last year-year and a half, we’ve seen Gionee focus on building a market for its own brand.
The Chinese hardware giant seems to be working on a new phone — and a new logo. The new phone, i.e., the Gionee S8, is expected to feature a MediaTek Helio P10 processor (as seen on the new Elephone P9000) along with some other impressive specs. Let’s take a look.
The Gionee S8, besides the aforementioned processor, is expected to have a 4GB of RAM, 64GB on-board storage, and an all metal body. Apart from that, this work-in-progress device will have a fingerprint sensor on the rear and a USB Type-C port.
Gizchina News of the week
Gionee’s camera game is usually strong, and it is expected to be that way on the S8 as well… with a 16 mega-pixel rear camera and an 8 mega-pixel front.
It isn’t clear as to when this phone will launch, but an MWC 2016 launch can’t be ruled out.
Meanwhile, take a look at the leaked images of the phone… do take note of the new modernised Gionee logo on the back of it, as well.
This one looks gorgeous, hopefully BLU will resell this one too for half the Gionee price 😛
lol like the vivo xl huh.. you seem to know the blu strategy
Blu and Gionee are partners they sell Gionee phones usually 3-6 months after Gionee launches them.

Here you go another thing learned today
Gionee has a consortium of about a dozen companies, Blu and Allview are two of them. They split the costs for development and Gionee produces them. On most models Gionee has exclusive rights to them for a set period of time before the sub-brands get access to them. Blu uses a few other OEM’s as well as Gionee but the majority of their phones come from Gionee. Some past Blu/Gionee models:
Blu Vivo Air – Gionee S5.1
Blu Vivo – Gionee S5.5
Blu Vivo 5 – Gionee S7
Blu Pure XL – Gionee E8
Blu Studio Energy – Gionee Marathon

Hi Balco!!! Im from India. I was supposed to purchase Gionee e8. After a few googling, i came to know abt Blue Pure XL. Kindly clarify is there any difference in these 2 mobiles. If no, In india where/which online this Blue Pure XL is available.
They are the same exact phone with the only difference being the LTE bands.
Hi Balco!! Thanks for your suggestion a year ago regarding BLU pure XL. I brought from US & using in India. Since last 2 months, the mobile randomly turn down. I’m unable to figure out the reason, even i factory reset it but still problem persists.
Have you came around these kind of issue in BLU or other devices.
Suggest a solution if u know.
Could be any number of things that could cause that. Your best bet is to find a local repair shop to take it to.
They say their camera plan on this will blow out the window. Hopefully it does. What I really would like to see is their Elife E9 as there is lots to improve in the E8 even if it is a great device that GizChina did not came through to review.
Maybe by the time this one releases we will have a review of the Gionee S6 and E8….
This looks really nice
Anybody know a price?
I have the Gionee Elife E8. Will we get android 6?
