Xiaomi’s rumoured drone made a surprise appearance in the menu of their online forums today.

Its has been speculated that Xiaomi might use alternative products to break in to markets outside China. The brand, famous for their affordable phones, has already proven it can do wearable, accessories, cameras, Segway and even bikes.

Their latest product could well be a drone, and patents show a quad-copter that can simply be controlled with gestures and will follow a pilot by locking on to their wearable.

Xiaomi have been predictably quiet about the rumours, but today they may have slipped up (accidentally on purpose?). Xiaomi’s community forum in China were extended briefly today to include a ‘drone’ category. In Chinese the forum”无人机” can be seen in the screenshot below but has since been removed.
