Meizu VP: iPhone 7 leaked images are actually pictures of the Meizu Pro 6

Meizu’s Li Nan is known for his impatience, but for once, a factory worker might have beat him to it.

Li Nan claims that pictures of what the tech world alleges to be the iPhone 7 are actually of Meizu’s upcoming Pro 6.

There are a good few months to go before the iPhone 7 launch, but as is the case with every iPhone launch, brouhaha has been made over the impending phone by the the media and fans.

The alleged leaked photos of the iPhone 7 depict a new antenna design for the phone, going from dual stripes to single. To convince that there was substance behind his claims, Li Nan shared a picture of the Pro 6 — which indeed has a very similar, if not identical, looking antenna.

Gizchina News of the week

Take a look at it here:

Chinese OEMs have done the unthinkable in the past: launched an iPhone clone before the actual thing was out. A lot of brands in the East seem to be inspired by Apple’s design, and Meizu is no exception. That said, Li Nan still feels the Pro 6 will be an iPhone 7 killer.

We’ll reserve our judgement for later; for when we actually have the phone in our hands.

Top and bottom parts looks made of metal instead of MX5’s plastic. That lines looks elegant, but hiding them like they did on the Metal would be better choice I think.

Also I’m beginning to suspect that there won’t be a MX6.

I think they are gonna combine the Metal and the MX6 as one midrange phone using a Helio P10 or P20.

I’ll probably wait for Blu to release it in the US, I really have no need for a new phone right now. The MX5 is still going strong. Now I am looking at new tablets instead lol.

I use my tablets mostly for movies. I am leaning towards the newest Mi Pad.

I saw a scathing review on chinamobilemag about horrible overheating especially when gaming and problematic gyroscopes on mipad. Few other ones that werent too positive about performance either, standard xiaomi really. You would be mad to buy a xioami product running only 2 gb of ram too if you want to run more than 3 or 4 apps at one time decently. My mums original mipad is ok, horrible software though, seems like the mipad miui was an afterthought really for xiaomi, almost beta like and miui for tablet is very iClone like. I was in the market too recently for a tablet and managed to source a nokia n1, taiwan model with google play services. Incredible design, possibly the best tablet I have ever held and 6.9mm thin, basically like an improved iPad design with rounded edges. Lovely stock android too and hits about 63,000 on antutu, annoyingly got 1 tiny stuck pixel but apart from that highly recommended. Most beautiful android device ive ever used.

The few people I know who have one love it. I don’t game so i’m not worried about that.

Yeah, as i say i’m using a nokia N1, and performance and build kills my mums mipad but the new one looks OK I guess, just can’t stand the MIUI version. Saying that I need to get a friend a phone and was thinking either Meizu MX5 or Redmi note 3 pro. I know redmi note 3 pro got the better snapdragon and larger battery but I can’t help thinking the MX5 is still probably a better all round package in terms of build, better cameras, ram use, design etc for someone who is a non gamer. As an MX5 owner would you say it was the better buy? Bit worried about Flyme bugs though as my m2 mini has notification issues in some apps. I’ve seen a few youtube videos in which the MX5 crushes the helio X10 redmi note 3, in build, speakers, cameras, fprint scanner, just wondering if the pro is enough of an upgrade to warrent getting instead of the mx5.

If it’s great on delivering performance and stable UI then I might be won over to this.

“A lot of brands in the East seem to be inspired by Apple’s design”. Just like Apple seemed to be inspired by HTC’s design.

There is nothing new outside the current designs. IMO only antenna lines will keep moving and swinging but with the same design language.

They all copy from each other including the all mighty Apple.

Now im getting unsure on buying the meizu metal, depending on how much this one costs.. I also wanted to buy a windows 10 phone for around 150 euros, the money from the metal and the wp10 phone could possibly allow me to buy this one.. but i really wanted a windows 10 phone aswell.. oh crap.

Kind of worried about Meizu at moment. When the Pro 5 mini was announced I was 100% set on it being my next phone. Then it gets scrapped. Now we know that their top of the line device will be run on a mediatek chipset, which we know will not be able to match the latest from qualcomm and samsung. We also have no real evidence of any competitor to the 5.1/5.2 inch flagships from xiaomi and samsung and LG etc. Then there is the elephant in the room about weather meizu will continue to refuse to use low apertures and OIS on their cameras. I still love meizu as in my mind they are still the best at designing the look of their hardware and software and this is way i’m a fan. But just seems like they are not competing properly at the moment and are just letting xiaomi continue to gain market share and head into samsung/LG territory because they cannot put together competitively specd devices.
