Huawei Honor 5C shows its budget face at TENAA

Honor 5C

Huawei is not slowing down and keep striking the iron while it’s hot. Just a few days after the big event which blew us away with the P9 launch we are getting another piece into the company lineup, this time with the new addition to the Honor sub-brand. Say hello to the budget Honor 5C, which has just surfaced at TENAA.

The Chinese certification authority listing more or less confirmed all the rumored specs so the Honor 5C is going to pack the 5.2-inch display with FHD resolution, octa-core in-house Kirin 650 processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, 13 Mpix rear shooter paired with 8 Mpix selfie front one and 2900 mAh battery capacity.

On top of that we are also getting microSD card slot, rear fingerprint scanner and Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Huawei EMUI on top of it. The phone’s dimensions will be 147.1 x 73.8. x 8.3mm and the weight 156g. Compared to last year’s 4C we should be also finally getting support for LTE Cat.6, which is definitely good news because the lack of 4G would be an absolutute killer in 2016.

There is a pretty high chance of Huawei bumping up the specs a little bit with some kind of a “Pro” or “Plus” version probably with the more usable 3 GB RAM/32 GB storage combo. Huawei has teased April 28th as one of the Honor 5C unveiling days so by the end of the month we should be getting new budget toy on the menu to play with.

Why not bump the battery to 4000 mah. a la Xiaomi Redmi 3, with which this would have to compete, unless Huawei is trying for a richer vein in this sphere.
