UMI Touch tastes coffee and goes for a swim

Chinese phone makers are probably having a secret competition in number of their phone stress tests and demolition videos released. Especially UMI are pretty much big fans of such videos and today we have another one for you starring the usual suspect UMI Touch and today’s torture instrument are various fluid. Has he not suffered enough already ?

Accidentally spilled drink on the phone is something which surely happened to every one of us at least once. And in the video we can see the UMI Touch getting a taste of some Starbucks coffee, but nothing a paper towel can’t fix and of course it works just perfectly without a hiccup.

Gizchina News of the week

And after the coffee it’s a perfect time for a swim so UMI Touch visits a nearby fountain and personally i think it’s a shame the video doesn’t show the lady fishing it out, because that could be maybe even more interesting. But we have to settle just for some more paper towel action and the phone is as good as new.

Check out for yourselves and enjoy, our Gizchina film critic is giving this blockbuster movie four out of five stars.

Is it just me or does UMI really not like their phones? They try to off them every chance they get.

Got mine yesterday, and am very pleased with it.
Compared with my previous phone Elepone p8000 or I should say EleCrap it’s way better I’m both software and hardware aspect, still discovering it and it surprise me to be this good with such low price.

Its better so far , but the down side is the charger is 1A rated which is slow in my opinion , so am still using p8000 charger coz its 2A , but umi cable is much better .

A child’s plastic play-phone with stickers for buttons is better than an Elephone.

WHY you should pour coffee to the umi touch, when in the regular usage the screen will have black dot by itself??

Don’t tell me u tryna get a UMI of all devices?!
Can’t quite spot the diff between a Umi and an Elepphone, all I see is beautiful crap.

Definitely not, indeed neither of the two suits my taste (save their battery life). Perhaps it might be also due to the fact that both use an MT6753 which turns me off greatly.

I’ve spilled coffee on a few phones all but one didn’t have an issue, I just whiped them off and they were good to go. The one that did have an issue was my Nexus 4 which instantly shut off, i rebooted and it still works to this day.

Exactly, I don’t see how a ‘coffee test’ tells one the touch isn’t just a hot looking piece of hardware. Pun intended

UMI Touch has a wifi speed test together with other 6 devices, (https://goo.gl/UfZZTc), watch it and learn more about the phone.
