The team over at UMi have prematurely posted the final specifications of the UMi Super over on the WeChat account and we’ve snapped the images up to check what the final details and fuss is all about.
Like Xiaomi with the Xiaomi Mi5, and Vivo with the Vivo X3, UMi are going down the ‘this phone is fast’ route for their marketing plan and before today the rumour was that the UMi Super might get a Snapdragon 820 chipset (but we all knew deep down that this wasn’t going to be the case).
While UMi haven’t officially released the final details of the UMi Super on their website yet, high level UMi employees have spilt the beans on their WeChat accounts, with the posting of images that look set to make up the official UMi Super specifications pages.
The images don’t go in to the nitty-gritty detail of the new phone, but do give us the major selling points of the phone. So will the UMi Super be super fast? Check out the specs below and decide for yourself.

- 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 Sharp display.
- 2.0Ghz Mediatek Helio P10 chipset.
- 4GB Samsung LPDDR3 RAM.
- 4000mAh Sony battery.
- Mircoarray fingerprint scanner.
- 13 mega-pixel Panasonic rear camera.
- 5 mega-pixel front camera.
- Unibody Alloy chassis.
- Dual SIM support
- Android 6.0.
Going through the leaked slides we can see that the UMi Super will also get a USB Type C plug, come in either silver or gold finishes and has the a Meizu look to it which follows on from the recently released UMi Touch smartphone.
We don’t know at this stage when the UMi Super will go on sale or how much it is going to cost when released. We also have no idea how long it will take for the phone to make it to market, it could be here next week or on the other hand it might take an age to ship (like the Umi Touch, and Umi Rome).

Wasn’t it supposed to be OLED? Sharp doesn’t do OLED so maybe these are fakes.
They are from the CEO’s WeChat. Perhaps they will change, but these sounds more realistic

Sharp actually does reportedly have an OLED display in the works, but from what I have heard it won’t be ready till 2017 and I highly doubt UMi would have access to it. Xiaomi will probably be the first to use it.
That’s not true.Foxconn will invest in developing OLED and they might even have a few 6G lines aimed at it in China already but they won’t have a product in 2017. As for the main target, that’s Apple, Sharp’s main customer.
It is true. Sharp has been exploring OLED well before the Foxconn takeover, as far back as 2013 they had prototypes. Foxconn will facilitate it’s development. And Apple signed a deal with Samsung for $2.6 billion to use their AMOLED’s for 2017.

But anyways of foxcom will have a product by 2017 it’s tounderstand it should be used for the 2018 line so to speak. As this things have to be planned ahead and (fool+mistakes)Proofed as much as possible.

It’s a Sharp display which means it is LCD. Sharp makes some excellent LCD’s.

Vivo and Alcatel/TCL have made a few good 652 phones. As for this phone being underpowered it really depends what you use it for. If you are a heavy gamer it is probably not for you but it has more than enough power for most people.

i play games , yes 😀 BUT honestly … my optimist alter ego was expecting an 820 in there …
but my realist self kept saying x20 or SD 652 because tbh , they REALLY went over-board with all the FB teasers and the hype …. all that JUST to bring us all down once again. this was a case of indirect corporate perjury and i’ll have a REALLY hard trusting UMI again after all this :/

I knew it wasn’t going to be the 652 or X20, I fully expected 6753. The X20 is too new for a brand like UMi to use and most of these smaller brands don’t use Qualcomm chips.
Alcatel Idol 4s uses the 652, it’s made by TCL.

Nothing super about it anymore & after so much anticipation & false commercials I am certain they won’t sold much of those.
I figured it was going to be MT6753 so this is a slight upgrade. Overall it’s really not a bad phone although I am interested to see how the Panasonic camera sensor performs.
If there will be the real panasonic sensor, it would be good no doubt about the sensor.
But the previous teaser about 6gb memory is already a miss.
Ulephone Vienna has that Panasonic sensor, I think. Read it in a review somewhere

Did somebody really believe that UMI have the cash or the influence to actually get am SD820? They couldn’t get an SD65x if their life depended on it.
In reality Qualcomm chips are much more expensive and hard to get(from smaller manufacturers)than MTK.
The P10 is a nice chip, but not a worthy upgrade from the 6752 or the 6753.
People with phones that bear those chips should upgrade only for X20.

Any way, how do you market a 39k antutu device as SUPER FAST BLA BLA BLA when it could have been an easy choice to go with the X10 at aorund 59k antutu (yes I mean it because antutu is a regular that most use for metrics (as inaccurate as that may be)ok)
