Smartron’s t.phone is an SD810 powered phone for IoT geeks

Indian startup and Sachin Tendulkar-backed Smartron yesterday announced the launch of the Smartron t.phone, the company’s first smartphone.

Smartron already has an Intel-powered tablet, the t.book in its kitty. The company fancies itself as an IoT startup, and thus plans to include features that will allow cross-device talk.

To speak of the phone per se, it comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p Super AMOLED display and is powered by 2015 flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 810. Besides that, the t.phone has 4GB of RAM, 64GB ROM (expandable), a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 4 mega-pixel front camera and a 3000mAh battery.

maybe its because of the pre production sample but the back looks a bit cheap with those spaces.

    • May 20, 2016

      Nah, AFAIK these aren’t preproduction.

Good luck to them. Not encouraging that they chose to use this SOC.
You forgot to mention the price, if there is one.

No fingerprint reader. They were probably living under a rock for the last year since they used SD810 and forgot to add a FP reader.

Snapdragon 810 is something to ignore on 2016, this SoC should already be in a Graveyard lol

to be fair i would rather take most 650/652 phones over a 810..and if i would take a 810 phone it would be the le 1 pro from alst year for like 180€ all inclusive with 4/64 as well
