Vernee’s come to the fore with a lot of vigour, and their Thor seems to be getting some accolade. That said, the more powerful of the Vernee lot are the Apollo and the Apollo Lite. Both of these phones are supposed to follow the Thor on to the market.
True to its name, the Apollo Lite is the less-powerful of the two. That said, with a Helio X20, the Apollo Lite should be a handful nonetheless. Let’s take a quick recap over the specs of this phone: it has a MediaTek Helio X20 processor, a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p display, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 5 mega-pixel front camera, 16 mega-pixel rear camera, a fingerprint sensor 3180mAh battery and a USB Type-C port that works with fast charging.
Quite clearly, despite being the second fiddle to the Apollo, the Apollo Lite is a device with specs that go beyond mid-range.
Gizchina News of the week
We reported recently about how the phone would be on pre-order starting tomorrow, i.e., 1st June. News is that the phone will be available for $199.99 between June 1 and June 15 (6-10pm, China time) for the first 10 buyers here. After that, the price will go back up to $229.99 (till the 30th of June, after which it’s set to go higher).
No NFC and only 5MP front cam, makes it compromised.
Consider the fact that this has 3.5mm jack and micro SD support, it’s already a far better phone for a lot of people.
Also looks better. 😉
the quantity of Le 2 at that price not too many
But only gold color available for Le 2..i don’t like it
Yeah I hate light coloured phone. Many of the Chinese makers are aiming for gold and silver to suit bigger brand colours, yet most sales are wanting Grey to Black.
For instsnce i would like dark silver green or imperial red or midnight blue… so many …
“Only 5mp front cam”. Considering most people only use the front cam for video chat and selfies, 5mp can be more than enough. Need to see it in action before deciding either way, “5mp” tell’s us next to nothing.
the editor made a mistake , Apollo Lite configured X20 chipset
very interested in the apollo lite and can’t wait for reviews. also interested in the zuk 2 if they release a US version. also still interested in the alcatel idol 4 but that seems to have disappeared down the rabbit hole. can we get some update on that?
Zuk Z2 may not get a US launch but it isn’t really needed as the Chinese version has most of the bands required for use on US LTE. Apollo Lite I would seriously wait for some reviews on it before making any decisions, a lot of people are having issues with their Thor’s which is expected from a new brand. I haven’t had many except for a speaker not working (reboot fixed it) but with new brands their first few phones usually suffer issues while they work out on the kinks. The Idol 4 has spent the last week being certified by the FCC and the WiFi Alliance meaning a launch should take place very soon. It is expected to launch on Tmobile.
I read somewhere is going the windows phone way…
another piece of metal brick with hilarious specs.. not my cup of tea
