You may or may not know this, but today is International Chilidrens day, and like each year Xiaomi have chosen the festival to give something to their followers.
This year they have released their MIUI 8 ROM as a public open BETA for Xiaomi fans to download and test ahead of the official release.

Those of you with one of the following Xiaomi phones can also take advantage of the release, but remember that these ROMS are not international and won’t have Google services installed, plus you will have to manually install them and doing so incorrectly could damage your device.

According to Xiaomi it is just Xiaomi Max, not Mi Max and based on it’s specs it’s a lot closer to a Redmi phone than a Mi phone. The real Lei Jun would have known that, of course the real Lei Jun also speaks very little English and can’t type in English.
My dear. I see you cannot know a lot of the Chinese language. We have different writings in the chinese for our products for example: 小(Xiao)米(Mi)Max (Mi max). Also 小米Note with the same meaning.
The Mi phones with 1 number (5/4/4C…) Have the Writing 小米(Xiaomi)手机(Phone)5/4/4C.
The Redmi or Hongmi phones have similar, there you can write 红米(RedMi)手机(Phone)Note3 or just 红米(redmi) Note.

I wonder why they always prefer Mi Note over Mi Note Pro for every beta. The Pro has much better specs, but we’re never getting any candy.
Could be something to do with processor SD810 and it’s myriad of problems/issues. The regular Mi Note uses the same SD801 as in the Mi4 and Mi3 (SD800 but same chip architecture).
Might have to fire up the old Mi4 or Mi3 this weekend.
