LeEco and Coolpad launch their first joint phone the Cool 1 at just 1099 Yuan for the Chinese market.
2 smartphone makers have joined together in a historic move and today have launched the Cool1 smartphone. The Cool1 is the first phone to be made in conjunction between Coolpad and LeEco and sees the first dual camera phone launch from the two.
The major feature of the new Cool1 is the dual camera design which uses 2 x 13 mega-pixel cameras in the same fashion the Huawei P9 and V8 do, i.e one camera is used for monochrome while the second works on colour images.
Another major feature of the Cool1 is a larger 4060mAh battery which LeEco and Coolpad claims to offer better battery life than the Huawei Mate 8. In tests the Cool1 is said to have 65% more battery life available after 5 hours of use than the Huawei.
The Cool1 benefits from a rear fingerprint scanner on the metal body, LTE, loop antenna, USB Type C, CNC alloy body and an 8 mega-pixel front facing camera.
Gizchina News of the week
Like other LeEco phones, the Cool1 has a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, and runs LeEco’s EUI operating system.
3 versions of the Cool1 will be available each of which with full LTE support for Chinese carriers and each using a 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 652 chipset, the only differences between the variants will be RAM and storage with options from 3GB RAM to 4GB RAM and storage ranging from 32GB to 64GB.
So what about pricing? Well pricing was expected to be on par with the Xiaomi Redmi Pro, but Coolpad and LeEco have managed to undercut the phone with Chinese retail pricing from only 1099 Yuan ($165) which in our minds looks like one heck of a deal! 4GB RAM models range from 1499 Yuan to 1699 Yuan.
My mouth is salivating for this phone especially 64/4 GB version, hoping the cameras are better sorted than LeEco LE2. Surely should hit Indian market before Festive season in Mid October.R. I.P. Xiaomi with it’s delayed model releases in India.
there we go again 😀
Everything looks awesome but hate the EUI
Install a third-party launcher, plenty of those around.
It’s not only the launcher. There are no options on the notification shade and the one menu multitask+utilitties is awful.
I really loved the multitasking combo menu. There are notification options in the settings if tyat’s ehat you want
I guess there’s going to be no expandable storage out of this alliance, as is de facto with LeEco
NFC and IR? Well specs at all? 😉
Well… That’s damn interesting! Hope it will have some kind of international availability unlike qiku n4s… If so, reviews will come quickly, so we’ll get to see how this performs
Qiku has a sd 820 beast with dual cam coming up as well 😀
Yeah, but it’s hard to find qiku’s devices, otherwise I’d already be tracking the n4s ?
im tracking qiku devices too (what a coincidence :p !)
Aliexpress MAY have something , but they have some markup !
can’t wait to know the price of that beast. Imagine if its b/w 200 and 250. that’d kill off redmi pro and cool 1 as well (provided qiku has sd card slot) !
When will it be available is the question!
lol
So far the specs are looking pretty good for the prices that they have to offer.
That is insane pricing. Very interesting for the market.
again with no card slot bs. looking at recent trends of phone sales it seems customers have wised up so f off leeco.
really, it’s almost 2017 and these out of touch companies still think everyone is as dumb as their ever-decreasing fanboys.
No micro sd again?!
MicroSD? FM radio? Colors?
I have a bad feeling we are getting that rose gold option only again…
Does this one have a headphone jack?
lol … asking the real questions
Yeah the phone has a headphone jack! Even if I do not like the bezels around the screen I am really tempted to get this device for the specs and attractive price. I will wait for reviews before the decide.
Wow. This just jumped to the top of my short list. Looking forward to comparison reviews of this and the redmi pro
3Gb=1099yuans, 4Gb=1499 yuans…400 yuans for just one more Gb??!
and only 200 to double the storage lol
Very good phone, great specs and cheapest price.
no nfc, no ir, no sd, no headphonejack. still good 4 the price
wtf .. that’s just low and greedy and frugal
Would still rather pick a Xiaomi Redmi Pro mini over this one. ?
mini … not my type :p
im still all for Redmi pro tho … sadly PTA has some problems with xiaomi , so their phones cant be sold here. im sold on redmi pro and cool 1 , BOTH !
too bad leeco hates sd cards tho… where them pics gonna go to when the ROM is full ?
I somehow more like 5.2″ along with better price & a bit better battery life so for me it’s mini. Dual camera? Puff would always rather go for better single one.
but DSLR is what’s cool !
otg maybe? if it supports.
maybe
has headphone jack btw …
Which is better between the Helio X20/25 and SD652 ?
raw processing power, X25. for graphics, SD 652.
Not Really. Row processing power along with GPU & power consumption S652 as 4xA72 @ 1.8GHz is more than 2x at 2.6GHz. The only thing X20—25 can win is single app performance & browser than again neither of those neither need nor will use top frequencies (all do it will still be faster).
Benchmarks says otherwise tho. Real life usage, pretty much, almost the same.

Do you know any real life app that can use ten cores? Do you really know what cluster represents? What threading migration is? If so you will know that what I have told you have much more sense. If not well their is always place for you in marketing.
Well, not that I’m aware of, mr know it all technicality. Regardsless to the numbers of clusters and what not or the handling of the threads. Real life usage performaces of the chipset as shown on the video is pretty on pare. Have you actually own phones with these socs and tested it? or you prefer sitting on the sidelines with a dictionary on technical details?
I am someone who knows math along with that that I have experience in software development (kernel among other things). Now please pull both phones out of your ass & amaze me. You still won’t amaze me whit anything about the SoC’s only with your ass capacity.
Oh, really? What company are you currently attached to “Mr Smartass”? I’m sure with your knowledge in software development, you’d have been headhunted by major IT firm by now, no, yes? Enlighten us with your work experience and what have you developed, please.
Worked on many phone kernels. With moddingg de developed a hibrid Linux Android alarms. Do know the kernel infrastructure & how the things work , you will find my name pseudo (ZolaIII) beside many ROM’s & kernels on both XDA & MoDaCo & all for free. Currently helping on CM for Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo to official maintainer. My specialty is performance tuning with smaller power consumption. Did menage & control a lot of infrastructural routines from many well known developers & not only from Android but Linux also. You won’t find my name anywhere in commits as I don’t make them I just control, suggest & tune. Also whose unofficial advisor on some computional projects on Edinburgh Advanced Algebra department.
Enough of me, what about you? Any credentials you may offer? Probably a YouTube one judging by the url for the video in previous coment. Now go & grow up.
So, you don’t have any proper profession experience rather than just a hobbyist, tuner and a modder? Well, that’s great. What do you do dor a living? Haha. Unlike, yourself, I don’t claim to be a “know it all” technical, guy but rather, I just know a thing or two on tech stuff from experience and as a hobbyist. And because of your rather non profession detailed profile you just mentioned, I’m rather confident that I have a higher income than one as yourself, as cocky as that implies. I was a COO of an online marketing firm in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, called Chromabit. Now, I just own my little humble cold pressed juicery called Melur Cold Pressed and a local entrepreneur, actively, looking out for new ventures to invest in.
A marketing guy I known it from the start!
I currently don’t have any income, their whose time when I had more daily income then you ever had a monthly one as a stockholder. Edinburgh’s University of science, especially compiutional algebra department stands as the best EU resurch center & one of the best in the world. By school I am an profesor of Philosophy but it never whose my thing. I never whose a “moder” nor copy cat commiter I actually look at the code to advice peple whose work it originally is how to improve it. Call it a hobby if you like. I actually wanted to be an cybernetic open black box engineer & design hardware, it never happened but I still do more reading & wite paper peaking then the most peple in the industry (IP designs & science works mostly). I am not an all know guy nor a high grade programer. Advising work for Edinburgh whose about hardware platform & actual hardware as I know couple of guys that work there including the head of department & they are specialists in their arias (their is no such a thing as the all know guy) so we do tolk a lot.
If you have money invest it in fish food production (long term, secure, fast growing & no hassle) at least that is my advice. ?
Two cherry picks just to show what I whose talking about.
Consider how X25 did utilize all 10 cores in Geakbench also consider that I delivery picked best ever results in single core test. When you narrow this to real usage scenarios when you have one heavy app running & starting another one the S652 have a big advantage as it only lits up another two A72 cores wile X25 needs to initialize another cluster, then cores & then to migrate first app on it and only then starts running second app on it’s high clocked A72 dual core cluster. It will naturally also consuming more power doing so as big dual core cluster will remain on high clocks wile mid cluster will be also running. Reed little about app threading, migration costs in CPU cycles & ARM retention C power states.

when can i import this BEAUTY TO PAKISTAN !?
I didn’t know Pakistan has internet
ignorance.
that and too much fox news :p

please have gorilla glass and FM radio.
I think it’ll have some sort of a glass protection but at that price, don’t expect a gorilla 4/5
gorilla glass 3 good enough for me
But wasn’t it supposed to have snapdragon 820 according to leaked info?
No micro sd again?!
MicroSD? FM radio? Colors?
I have a bad feeling we are getting that rose gold option only again…
Does this one have a headphone jack?
According to the article on Gizmochina it does feature a 3,5mm jack
lol … asking the real questions
Yeah the phone has a headphone jack! Even if I do not like the bezels around the screen I am really tempted to get this device for the specs and attractive price. I will wait for reviews before the decide.
