Chinese customers will be able to pre-order their 1099 Yuan Cool1 smartphone today with delivery on the 24th with open sales starting next month.

Yesterday, Coolpad and LeEco launched the Cool1 for an astonishingly low price of only $165 for the Chinese market. What made the price so amazing is the fact the hardware on the device is way above what we expected.

Gizchina News of the week

Feature highlights for the Coo1 include dual rear 13 mega-pixel cameras, fingerprint scanner, all metal CNC chassis, 8 mega-pixel front camera, Snapdragon 652 chipset, IR remote, USB Type C, and 4070mAh battery.

Pre-orders of the phone kick off today in China with the first shipments of phones arriving with customers (and resellers) on the 24th August, after this an open sale will begin on the 10th September.

And finally for those of you wondering, 3 colours of the Cool1 will be available which include gold, rose gold and grey.

i interpreted that your implying it wont be available outside of china like sharp phones but looking back how is color really related to meant for china only especially these colors? rose gold is common so is silver and even gold all seems standard to me

well i bet resellers will sell it for 300 dollars which i would still be willing to pay since specwise on paper at leats its good hope the camera is as excellent like on the zenfone 3, so its either the zenfone 3 for me or this phone unless some other miracle phone comes i was super close in buying the zen already

Nah it will come at around 200 dollars if not less with time – Le eco’s prices at resellers seems to be pretty tame especially at oppomart which seems to have a deal with them

The back and colours scream LeEco and the front screams Coolpad. I’ll probably get one to test but would prefer if they have op for a different OS rather than LEUI. Because if everything, design, UI is LeEco like then why release this phone as a joined project? Might as well launch it under LeEco, really. LeEco is more than capable of doing this.

Gray LeEco’s are pretty sexy But yeah a black or at least dark gray version would be great

So we can choose between silver, gay rose and diarrhea-coloured… Not a black version to hide those gigantic black borders… Damn, this and microsd lacking are big cons…

I deeply agree with you, moreover Ibuygou advertised the standard version at $260, the 4gb/32gb version at $315 and the 4gb/64gb version at $350. If I have to pay that amount of money for a device, I would prefer to add $40 and get a flagship device like the Honor 8 or the 64gb version of the MI5 which is around 325€. I am waiting for the international version of the Redmi Note 3 Pro. Redmi Pro is also attractive but too expensive IMO.

Well, it’s a bit unfair to compare the price of a device which just hit the market with devices who have been on the market for months like the mi5: back then the price of the xiaomi was severely higher due to hype, and now it’s the same… Let’s see how things go when price settle a bit: most likely, it will be 50$ lower! However, as for now, yeah: there are *supposedly* better things at around the same price (I said “supposedly” because we don’t know yet how this cool1 actually goes). I find redmi pro totally overpriced (moreover, I think its dual set up is mostly a gimmick), while redmi note 3 pro keeps being the absolute best buy imo

I can’t agree more, also the Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4 will be launched pretty soon.

Yep, I’m looking foward to redmi note 4, it could turns out to be a nice piece of kit since I kind of think it could have a sd652 and some other nice touches on board… Or, if it’s not true, at least it will make redmi note 3 pro’s price even lower

That horrendous rose color strikes back , made a black version right now Leeco.

Well resellers like Ibuygou advertised the standard version at $260, the 4gb/32gb version at $315 and the 4gb/64gb version at $350. With those prices the phone isn’t attractive anymore. I mean that there are better choices for $30-40 more.

I hate these companies that charge people so much just to increase from 32gb to 64gb. Expecially when microSD costs soooo much less.
