Elephone S7 to be launched soon, more specs revealed

New batch of specifications of the upcoming Elephone S7 is here and with the launch date rapidly approaching it’s only logical we are getting close to the full idea about the phone. Rumor mill is hinting at a September launch so the wait really shouldn’t be long.

So let’s sum up what we know about the Elephone S7 so far. The phone should have a 5,5-inch bezel-less display, Helio X20 processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB of storage and fingeprint scanner on the front panel. Rear camera should have 16 Mpix resolution while the front one only 8 Mpix, both sensors yet unknown. Elephone S7 should be launched in two different hardware versions and with several color options to choose from.

Gizchina News of the week

S7

Concerning the price we heard something about $99.99, which would be fantastic, but it’s probably only a starting one for the lower specced version. But sounds promising so let’s wait and see, until that at least take a look at the two real photos of the Elephone S7, not bad at all huh?

    What’s the battery like then?

If only Elephone had actual techs building phones and less PR types making mock-ups.

It is just me or the angle (the edge) of the screen drops to an awkward angle of 45 deegres , instead of a more soft 30 deegres?

IDGAF about it being a S7 clone but at $99(if true) it offers some killer specs & design.

I have to admit that the phone in both colors, looks really cool. The specs will be great, if it starts from $99.99. But if it doesn’t support SD Card, it’s not so good…

But don’t forget, it’s an Elephone! It will come with many software bugs (no Updates) and then the phone will die in 3-4 months. =P

It will die in 3-4 months but also, it’s good to know that the software bugs lifespan is longer than the phone’s. haha

Don’t get carried away with that rumored price: they asked like 200$ for that s3 only because “curved screen”, just imagine what they’ll ask for a device with a decent spec sheet… Even p9000 costs more, and it has worse specs as well… Don’t fall for their marketing moves, it’s not worth it!

      August 20, 2016

Yeah, I doubt it will be $99. Just because the S3 was “bazel less” they, self-justifying, place such a price eventho the hardware was pretty outdated. A lot of people are complaining on their official forum that apps are crashing and Whatsapp has issues on the S3 and etc and their Moderator reply was something like “S3 has just been release, Please understand that there will be bugs and eventually the bugs will be fixed with more updates…” My thought was shouldn’t a phone be working out of the box? To date, still giving shitting software. Heck, Even Vowney was advertised to have 4k recording and still now, no 4k. haha

To be fair, they use the software provided by mediatek, so no wonder there are issues with apps since the sw:
1- is shitty and outdated, with kernel sources that should be rewrote entirely
2- is thought out for china, where there is no whatsapp or play store with its app
However, they launch their products for the international market, so they should animate their lazy asses and work on the sw instead of just stick with what mediatek gives them. No phone is “perfect” out of the box, but they are doing no work at all!

Also, I thought helio x10 doesn’t support 4k recording at all, so that could be either another job they skipped or a scumbag, fraudulent marketing move

I wouldn’t just blame Mediatek. I’m replying you based on my experience with a Meizu M2 note which I had and It shares the same chipset, The Meizu M2 note performs rather well with no such bugs that would have a major usage effect. In the end of the day, it’s falls down to the capacity of the manufacturer to produce a good phone. and I can assure you that the Helio X10 supports 4k, from my experience with the Letv one x600 which I had. I’m beginning to question the source of your information tho..

That’s because meizu actually works on its sw ? while many doesn’t, just keeping the base sw mediatek provides… It’s not just mediatek’s fault: qualcom gives a base rom for its chipset as well… The rest is up to whoever bought the chip to optimize everything, and that’s a step many tend to skip! (there are problems with mediatek’s sources release as you may already know, but that doesn’t justify elephone’s laziness).

About the 4k recording, I don’t really have any source: like I wrote, that was just my thought! I’m not into video recording, so I didn’t investigate further, sticking with some kind of rumor I’ve heard ages ago!
