The last Oppo Find phone we saw was the Find 7 back in 2014, and since then Find 9 rumours have been on and off, now they are back on again.
In al honesty we don’t know what Oppo are going to do with the Find range. The company haven’t made any announcement about if they plan to carry the flagships phones on or not, and over the past few years seemed to have shifted their attention to the ‘R’ range of phones.
These facts plus the advent of OnePlus seem to have added some well placed nails in to the coffin of the Oppo Find 9, well at least until today.
Gizchina News of the week
Like a Zombie, Find 9 rumours just won’t stay dead with Chinese site IT Home today declaring that the Find 9 will get the latest generation of Corning Gorilla Glass to keep the front of the device safe from harm.
With only a few months till the end of the year Oppo still have some time to launch a Find 9, but we feel if it doesn’t come this year then it likely never will.
In my opinion Oppo has done away with the Find series. It has been two years and I have been waiting for the Find 9. But, my attention is elsewhere now with LeEco and Huawei.
I just wish they would make an announcement one way or the other, so that I can move on and replace my Find 7 with another flagship. It has been brilliant phone for me, but the world is passing by as I wait for an Oppo replacement.
they still need a flagship phone, so I think the Find is going to be released. I suspect it will be awesome and way out of my price range.
Well, “need” is a bit stretched: all they “need” is to sell, and they’ve never sell so much before, so they really don’t “need” it… Sure, fans would like it, but oppo probably don’t feel the rush to create it for now, so we can’t really say if there’ll be a flagship or not in the near future!
The problem is Oppo has had so much success selling overpriced midrange phones like the R9/F1 Plus there really isn’t any incentive for them to release a Find. That and the popularity of their OnePlus brand has effectively killed the Find series.
Plz don’t use words like “killed” when writing about Find series. I’m still very sensitive and often thinking about it in sentimental ways. You can use “put on hold” or “deprived of public communication” but nothing too radical or i’m gonna cry.
BTW another good ending could be a R10 with mid-hi SoC, Super VOOC, state of the art Exmor RS + Smart Sensor and revamped Find series design for a mere $450.
My apologies for your loss! The Find 7 is still an amazing phone all these years later, I powered my old one up the other day for nostalgia sake. The Find series were the only OPPO phones I ever liked.
The Oppo Find 5 is still a masterclass in terms of design and build. Plus, that midnight finish is just bloody gorgeous.

Perhaps a better story would be how well Oppo has done in the last two and a half years without the Find 9.
Plenty of stories have been written about OPPO’s success over the past few years, this isn’t about that. This is about a Flagship phone series that many of us here loved and have eagerly awaited the successor.
If OPPO should ever launch a new Find device it should be like the best flagship device … ever – So maybe they are taking their time to make a perfect device?
How much time do they need? It’s been 2 years already lol.
were waiting for more than 10 years for half life 3
I do always fall for the yearly rumors that “This is the year for Half Life 3!!!”. Then I feel deflated in the end.
Haha true there are always clickbait items on random christian sites regarding it wtf
Yes! I don’t know what it is with those Christian sites and gaming news, I always find out about the newest Xbox Live free games from some random Christian website that has them before anyone.
Oppo’s using GG5 for its next flagship instead of sugar glass ? Who’s gonna believe it ? Aw c’mon… That’s hardly a news, like writing Find 9 will have USB Type C.
The only TRUE rumour is Find 9 will have Exynos 8890 xD
