Elephone’s S7 comes with a sleek design and flagship hardware, but that gets pretty useless if the User Experience is not at par. This is why Elephone are really focusing on software and adding some cool features & shortcuts to enhance the overall phone value.
In this video Elephone shows how E-Touch 2.0 works:
As you can see from the video, the front fingerprint scanner works as a touch button as well, in addition to the physical button. Letting the user use it in three different ways:
Gizchina News of the week
- You can touch it slightly to go back
- Touch it twice or press it to return to the Home screen
- Press it twice to go to a shortcut you previously set
E-Touch 2.0 appears to be a neat feature, considering that there’s only one home button available. It gives the user more customization and that’s always good.
Some info about the Elephone S7..

Great feature, but if I’m not mistaken, it was a feature of R9, is right?
I wonder if the S7, as the R9, will have the glass cover on the fingerprint reader.

seriously gizchina? this is news? haha.
The thing that makes me turn up the noses, is that all being integrated in a E-Touch key, I hope I don’t risk to activate a function to another ….
I heard that S7 has a glass cover on front fingerprint scanner for safety and more durability. And this feature is nice as we have 1 key for all the tasks. But I think this is unfamiliar to what we use everyday on other smartphones. So it would take time from anyone to get habituated with this.
Okay if you have promised that your device is so much user friendly that is nice to hear but that should be in reality as well hope the after sales service has been improved so far. 🙂
This 2 devices are looking so good in hands. I’m Planning to get a R9 the higher version.
I love that developers also added shortcut button function to the home button, it’s a nice little addition that is always useful to have around when switching between multiple apps or when you just want to quick launch your favourite app
I saw people asking if it is going to be the same as it is on their older p9000 model and apparently it’s even better, has more options and functions!
hmm, sounds a bit complicated, probably will take some time to get used to the multi purpose of the button doing multiple things, but then i am use it will be really useful
So the mass production of s7 and r9 starts at the end of November, it is worth waiting though, at least i think so
honestly, call me whatever, i don’t really care, but this and i mean THIS function is something every phone should have!!
well interesting. both S7 and R9 have the same feature?
do they have on screen buttons??
But it doesn’t make sense that you are presenting features as news!
Aww! Seems it have bunch of features that differentiate it from existing ones.
E-touch 2 feature is really good, i tested mtouch from Meizu and i like this type of shortcut more than the separate soft touch keys…
Watching the video, It give perfectly the idea, I must say that it looks great!
