JiaYu G3 Unboxing Photos and Specification confirmation!

The JiaYu G3 seems to be nearing launch and these latest photos of an unboxing and quick hands on seem to confirm this. Keep reading  for photos and more benchmark results!

JiaYu have started to send out evaluation models of their new JiaYu G3 Android phone to Chinese media sites in preparation for the phones imminent release.

As you can see from the photo these test units have already started to arrive and eager tech journalists have wasted no time taking photos of the new Chinese dual-core MTK Mt6577 phone and even running a few AnTuTu test for themselves.

From the photos we can see that JiaYu are really planning to show of the G3 and seem to be very much proud of the design of their 4.5 inch dual-core phone, so much so that they have even made the packaging of clear plastic so as not to hide the phone under unnecessary cardboard.

We can also see that the G3 seems to ship with a rubber bumper (much like those available for the iPhone 4S), along with a plastic case and a screen guard, which might be redundant as the G3 boasts a Gorilla Glass display.

I am a bit skeptical about the display, was checking out the mediatek site yesterday and there its said that MT6577 is able to drive screens upto qHD resolution but the G3 sports an HD screen(at least thats the spec that is posted everywhere) how did JiaYu manage that?

Just wondering if they have 100% confirmed its still an alloy body.

I am also wondering about how the on board storage is partitioned. Hopefully the whole 2.3 is internal memory and it isn’t two partitions.

    Who have already ordered this?

    to Abirjin:

On the Mtk website you can read
“The MT6577 is designed to deliver rich multimedia experiences, with an 8MP camera, support for up-to high-definition 1080p video playback and the ability to support high-resolution displays up to HD720 (1280×720) resolution. “

Agreed, it can drive an HD screen. Any MT6577device can.
However, what is the compromise on performance? I bet it’s not gonna look good.
It really would be nice if a head on test between similar equiped phones with qHD and and HD720 screens could be done.in case anyone hev seen something like that, please share with us.
Maybe the JB 4.1.1 firmware update for thr 6577 platoform will help towards the performance issues, but until then…

Andi: I thought they had pre-order on a lot of the website … in fact, I saw one that offers $6 of in-store credit if you pre-order.

The problem is that all of these online resellers have no stock and really have no idea when they will get stock as the phone companies sell to their loyal fans first and usually via their forums and a presale. That’s why although Xiaomi (for example) are getting their second lot of M1s ready for launch not one store or online reseller has any stock.

So basically, like me, everyone is holding off until they no more? I considered putting in a pre-order but it seems risky.

soooo where would you suggest we order from to get a fast delivery?
And almost more importantly, there are no pictures of the charger! could you tell us a little about the connective abilities (for example: does it have a mini- micro- USB or some random-ass china data port?!?)

Be careful in your excitement to buy this phone. Check spam fraud websites before ordering online. I ordered this phone from the china website called ELECTRONICS STORE and received a cheap samsung knockoff. Some folks don’t get anything and wasted their money.

Please can do you confirm that is the end of the G3 wcdma network?, some pages say the 4 frequencies and another only 2100. I need 850 and 1900.
    Thanks a lot
