Mid-range Meizu M5s coming 27th January

Meizu have started sending out press invites for their next, the Meizu M5s.

For a phone with the very popular mid-range (and sometimes, entry-level) MT6753 SoC, the M5S has garnered a lot of attention. The phone will launch on the 27th of this month.

Multiple leaks have provided info about this phone in bits and pieces. The most comprehensive would be the Meizu roadmap leak, however.

Coming back to the Meizu M5s, it’s expected to feature a 5.2 inch display (presumably with a 1920 x 1080p resolution), along with other mid-range specifications. 3GB RAM is what we’re expecting to see.

With over a couple of weeks to go before launch, and keeping in mind the track record of Meizu in shielding the info regarding the M5s, I’m sure we’re going to learn a fair bit more about the phone before the official unveil.

What do you think about companies launching MT6753 phones in 2017?

I usually defend Meizu, but this is a terrible idea.

The f*cking and broken clock shows the correct time twice a day. You are right now! Or are we lucky today?

Another pointless spam device with an even sh*ter older cpu than usual from Meizu. Good to see nothing has changed then. Running android 6 no doubt with an upgrade to nougat coming…never.

Actually all the Meizu devices are quite good, so what if they don’t come with the fastest SoC at that price, but they have great build quality, good performance and much better camera than the competition, and not to mention all the sensors!
The MT6753 is a puzzling choice though, since it’s not very battery friendly, but I think this will launch at around 90$, where it will be much better than all the crappy devices at that price range.

USD is increasing dramatically in developing countries. If Meizu’s target market is developing countries (I think so), these specs and prices are normal. What you earn and pay is what you get.
