It looks like Oppo will be setting world standards again with their upcoming Oppo Find 5 smartphone which, if rumors are true, will feature a 5 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution screen with 441 ppi pixel density!
Earlier this year Oppo launched their Android powered dual-core Finder 3 which was then and still is now the world’s thinnest smartphone measuring just 6.65mm! Not only is the Finder 3 thin, but it is also exceptionally stylish and strong too, just take a look at this video of the Oppo Finder 3 being used as a hammer!
Now, Oppo are preparing to launch their all new Oppo Find 5 5 inch Android phone, and they are planning to set world standards again!
Gizchina News of the week
This time Oppo are planning to wow the world with the Find 5 thanks to its super high-resolution screen which will feature a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 441 ppi pixel density which would give the Oppo Find 5 more pixels per inch than the current iPhone 4S Retina display!
As we have reported before the Find 5 is also expected to have a similar quad-core Qualcomm S4 CPU as the Xiaomi M2, 2GB RAM and a 12 mega-pixel rear camera!
With this specification it is looking more and more likely that Oppo will have an iPhone 5 killer on their hands when they officially launch the 2300 Yuan Chinese Android phone!

Andi been following your blog for the past month or so. I have to say, you are doing such a terrific job, so much so that my fiance is also seing the light of day about “china phones”. Back to my original intent, I would like to ask if oppo is able to supply the demand, like xiaomi has. Thanks and cheers!
I would like to correct the question. with, if oppo will be able to meet the supply foe the high demand? unlike xioami where they can only supply on a limited capacity,.
@Pjohn hi Pjohn yes I think Oppo can handle demand better than Xiaomi and others can. The Finder 3 has been easily available across China since launch and can even be bought in big brand high street stores here in China where as Xiaomi’s phones (even the original M1) are still pretty hard to come by.
@Andi Thanks for the quick reply. When is this sweet device coming out? Seriously can’t wait, was looking at the zp900 but i guess i’ll just wait for this one. On another subject, I didn’t receive the pw for the forum.
It could be also the first real competitor to galaxy note.
andi, who do you think makes that display?
@earl I’ll hazard a guess at Sharp for the display. They’ve really been pushing their screens and have been known to team up with other Chinese brands such as Meizu. I did half decide the Xiaomi M2 would be my next phone, but I’m holding out for the Oppo Find 5 now!
I was looking at the JiaYu G3 and then this phone had to come up ;-). Even at 2300 Yuan this phone is a steal when you compare that to what an S3 or iPhone 5 will sell for unlocked. The one question I have is how is the after sales support from Chinese manufacturers? Do they release updated ROMs when a new version of Android is released?
Been following your stuff for close to 3 months now, and i think im edging closer to my first purchase of a chinese made smartphone
Same as above Andi, would like to know how support and development is like with Oppo? And if i may, which chinese manufacturer, apart from the miui powered Xiaomi phones, has the best after market dev and support for international owners?
Please tell me it is dual sim!
If the price is confirmed and the phone available in physical stores, this will be my next phone unless I’m very lucky and get a XiaoMi M2.
@Andi
Do you know what the price of Oppo Find X905 is in store now ?
Same here Andi, can you please check with your sources if it’s Dual Sim?
Oppo doesn’t make dual sim phones. And this one will be their flagship product. So there is no way it’s gonna be dual sim.
I’m still going for Zopo zp900.
I have a question guys.
How does whatsapp work on the two sim card phones? I haven’t thought of this till now.
Does it register both numbers and accepts the incoming messages to different numbers and can you decide on which number to use for messaging?
I’m a bit confused on this really
will it have a long battery life with that screen?
i was set to get my flap no. for the m2 in early october but i like oppo and the fact their shops are pretty descent to just drop by and bag a phone. Chinese still prefer non-chinese companies so even the taobao prices will be ok.
Hope oppo didnt invite Lei DiCaprio again for their commercials and put all the money in production.
Quality is usually top notch with oppa and they have production capacities unlike meizu and xiaomi.
As for a Samsung note competitor, the Lenovo K860 is my first choice by a mile.
@geodex
you can register both numbers with whatsapp, you just have to set up two accounts. better off just registering one.
The screen may be made by Sharp, In Japan people are saying the SH-09D by Sharp has the best screen out in the market. It sold out very quickly in Japan.
Qualcomm Chip is very good with battery life. I have a Pantech Vega Racer 2 (2020mah) and it last me for a day (with downloading apps and playing games and data connectiion on) and if you just use like a normal phone It should last a day (24hours) to a day and a half. It has a Qualcomm S4 Krait Dual Core with the quad Qualcomm S4 Pro I’m pretty confident you won’t have to charge for at least 10 to 12 hours. Unlike the Nvidia Tegra 3 it only last for half a day (complaints read from Fujitsu F-10D forum).
With the size of Oppo we are probably looking at least 2100mah.
But I might be wrong…. it will be a dissappointment if it is less than that.
The demonstration picture comes from “Japan Display”. They used it to demonstrate their new 651 ppi Display. See here:

I think the Oppo Find 5 display will be made by LG and it will be this one:

FFS chinese ppl they will never stop i was waiting for mi2 4 months and here we are almost pre order time and new beast anounsed what to doooooooooooo omg .
Hi Andi,
I will buy a phone when I am on business trip in china. Now I have heart there are maybe problems with the Androis update for german language. Moreover the google app store is not supported by the phone, only a chinese store. Is this right?
I bought Finder yesterday, being my first Android phone I am not very accustomed to is market download for apps. It seems that i cannot download via Google Play. Looking at supported phones i do not see Oppo under manufacturers list. Does anyone have any work arounds or suggestions. Cheers
Too bad though that it lacks dual sim capability.
