Vernee Apollo and OnePlus 3T are currently the flagship models for the respective brands and while they share quite a lot in the deasign features, the hardware specifications are worlds aparts. Mostly in favour of the OnePlus horse, but there is one specific area where the Apollo is feeling pretty strong and confident.
It’s the display where the Vernee Apollo can offer 2K resolution LCD display against the FullHD AMOLED screen from the OnePlus 3T. So it makes sense the company tried to emphasize the benefits in a small comparison video, which you can find below.
In the video they are trying to analyze the screen performance and got into the conclusion that while both models can deliver pretty good picture the Apollo has more vivid colors while OP3T is more easy on the eye with being a bit yellowish. Which sounds a bit weird to me, because AMOLEDs are usually more on the bluish side of the tint and you can actually see it in the video.
Gizchina News of the week
In a close look the pentile AMOLED of Oneplus with lower resolution will inevitably look a bit more rougher than the Apollo, that can be hardly argued about who has the upper hand here. And according to the video the viewing angles are also better for the Vernee flagship.
There is also quite some discrepancy in the price so it’s up to the customer to choose the more fitting model for him. Vernee Apollo can be currently bought for $259.99 in here, which is a pretty interesting price for this powerful beast.
Isn’t it stupid to begin with to compare a 2k display with a FHD? Rather than comparing with OP3’s display, should compare it with Le Max 2 display that has 2k. Plus, the Le Max 2 is cheaper and has a better chipset. I said the same thing on Gizmochna. If this is the kind of “quality” marketing or PR coming from Vernee than, I’ll take a pass on this brand.
Yes it is, but the funny thing is the Vernee still “loses” this battle if presented to the vast majority of people. Non techies love their saturated screens which is provided nicely by a Pentile AMOLED compared to a 2K LCD.
True, Amoled displays do look better to the naked eye compared to LCD despite the technical expect of it. I’m sure anybody who had used Samsung of any phones with Amoled technology won’t argue. The only cons of Amoled is that you might suffer from a burn in if you constantly set the brightness at high. Still the better display compared to LCD, personally for me.
Still a rather odd comparison and match up to put up against the likes of OP tho. What are those guys thinking over at Vernee..
I think part of the reason why they matched it against the OP3 is their weird obsession, and the other part is most likely the fact that they thought comparing a 1080p vs 2k display would be a cakewalk.
And yes, the APollo is way worse than the Le Max 2.

If you’re just comparing pentile technology why even use OP as an example along with their many other comparison. They can just use general comparison without mentioning a specific device by name in particular. Not the smartest move tho. Anybody would argue despite the pricing of Apollo, OP3 is still the best value for what the HW and SW has to offer, hands down. Infact, Le Max 2 is a better value than Apollo if you weight the spec sheet and being cheaper.

Vernee are obsessed with oneplus. Thats like 4th article comparing some of their phones to it. Its not gonna work. I still consider OP3 the best value for money package of 2016 and Vernee is too ambitious trying to convince people that they are better…
Agreed.
i didn’t read that Vernee use the 2K display compare with FHD display of the 2 models, they just tried to say the pentile alignment of AMOLED is not good.
Sure the Apollo has a 2K resolution but for those who are into saturated screens vs colour accurate screens (which would be a large majority of people), the OP3T’s screen looks better.

How does this phone even come close to competing with OP3T?! Whats a QHD screen without the software to back it up!?
