Cheap dual camera phones will have another friend to the mix very soon, because Cubot will release the Cubot Rainbow 2 model in the matter of few weeks. And even though the pricing is still unknown they are hinting at it being very low. Well let’s see.
As for the hardware inside the Rainbow 2 i have to say that the official PR release with “full specs” is not including any info about used processor, but let’s assume for the sake of argument that as most of the cheap dual camera phones it will have the MT6737T equipped. Of course the main selling point are the dual cameras and the 13 Mpix primary + 2 Mpix secondary should take care of the bokeh effect properly. Front selfie cam is a 5 Mpix one with LED flash available.

Rest of the specs are pretty underwhelming, especially seeing 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage is quite non sufficient in the modern world. The display with be a 5-inch one with HD resolution so at least it will be smaller than the majority with 5,5-inchers. Battery seems also fairly low capacity with 2035 mAh and at least they included Android 7.0 as the OS out of the box.
If a phone is named Rainbow then you should of course expect some vibrant color variants and the Cubot Rainbow 2 won’t disappoint in this matter. There will be black, white, gold, blue and red variants on the market and the phone should be officially released in March.

Cubot i love you guys i know that 1gb ram will be like 80% free since their software is so stable i have no faith in the camera… Battery not so good on paper but i have seen phones like the doogee y300 get great battery life with a similar size sooooo maaaaybeeee
If its 6737t on HD resolution then thats amazing forr gaming or decent make it 80$
they should stop producing those 1gb ram banks, otherwhise some stupid brands will never stop to use them in their stupid phones. Never buy phones with less than 2GB of RAM nowadays if you actually want to use them.
