New flagship Chuwi 2in1 tablet is finally about to be released so after a prolonged period of waiting since we have first seen the official specs revealed at CES 2017 in January. And now we know the exact pricing and the presale start date of the Chuwi Hi13.
Chuwi Hi13 is without a question trying to stand directly against the Microsoft Surface Book using the very same 3:2 aspect ratio screen with 3K 3000×2000 pixel resolution and 267 PPI. With Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake processor and 4 GB RAM the performance will be good, though using the 64 GB eMMC storage and not SSD is a detriment to the flagship model. Everything of course running on Windows 10, but there will be also Ubuntu OS support officially available.
Gizchina News of the week
The build is as usual all metal unibody and compared to the Surface Book its a fanless design inside. We will also find AAC four speaker audio setup, dualband ac Wi-Fi, USB-C port supporting audio and video transmission, 10000 mAh battery with 24W fast charging, 5 Mpix + 2 Mpix cameras and support for the new upcoming Chuwi HiPen H3 stylus (or the already existing HiPen H1). There is also optional detachable metal rotary keyboard with dual USB-A full sized ports.
Chuwi Hi13 is going to be officially released on February 20th and customers will be able to pre-order it starting that day for $369. That’s not a bad price comparing it to the competition, but still add SSD to the mix and it would be insta buy and much bigger hit.
They do not even pretend to be tablets at this point. I guess that’s good because windows tablets were/are really, really bad. Good thing they underline it’s laptop use/form.
It also means that we won’t get any quality tablets from China anymore, but we can’t have everything I guess. Half of Microsoft’s strategy was to discredit the whole tablet thing by creating a mockery of it (really the first 2in1s were good as neither tablets or laptops). I guess they half succeded there, I mean android tabs kill them in sales to this day, but did convince android OEMs to either switch or stop using powerful chips in their tabs. Of course they still lose to mediocre tabs which does say a lot of how much people actually need tablets instead of laptops… but they did stop the bleed (all the high end sales end up to/with them).
no SSD and no GPU for games … THIS SUCKS !
no whole in my wallet too 🙂
heh
Get a Microsoft Surface then! What do you want for $369 USD? The World?
they should ATLEAST start innovating by adding those at good prices…
I still want CHUWI Hi10 Pro…will buy next month
