Elephone recently slowed down so they are not the “machine gun” type of a producer they once were, but still pumping out models with impressive pace. Their value oriented C series already got Elephone C1 and C1X models with bigger C1 Max coming soon. But judging by the picture below there is one coming into the fold soon with Elephone C1 Mini.
Gizchina News of the week
While all of the C1 models share some basic specifications like HD resolution of the display or MT6737 as the used chipset, the differences in design can be pretty significant as documented by the title picture. According to the leaked rumors the new Elephone C1 Mini will be smaller than the siblings with just 5-inch display and design similar to the C1 Max but without the dual camera setup. So most probably the same sleek metal body and youth oriented aim with some vibrant color options.
Elephone C1 Mini is not yet listed on the official company website so we have no idea about the actual release date and pricing, but we can assume it’s not gonna be long until it hits the market. And we will of course keep you informed.
5 inches is mini now?
Don’t tell me 4.7″ is considered mini? Old times when Nokia shines, phones were smaller than 2″!
But time changes.
Now most of the phones are so large that 5″ is considered mini
Times are changing, human hands aren’t. A mini is one that let’s one handed use exclusively. There are no minis anymore…
I know dude, but it does not change the fact that people consider 4 or 4.7 inch mini size phones haha
But let’s face it we eventually got used to it.
So our hands “in a way” got bigger. Or we convinced it to accept that size of a phone.
I don’t like big phones to make calls but what can we do except accept the big phones T_T
I miss my old Galaxy S with that 4″ screen </3
My point was/is that you cannot reach all 4 corners of a 5 inch phone and this is pretty much universal for men with normal hands and women of all sizes.
I mean it is possible to have big hands and even a 5.5 inch phone seem small to you, but that’s not the norm. What’s the norm is that we’re transitioning away from phones into mini tablet / phablet territory. For example see Xiaomi Mi Mix , or the new LG or the new Samsungs. All around 6 inches (give or take). There is a reason too, ergonomy is less important to most people as compared to info consumption.
So yeah I keep on saying that actual minis don’t exist any more, and phones (pocketable devices that can occasionally be used one handed) also go the way of the dodo.
I used to say it in the past too. Tablet is the future. People are transitioning to tablets (we still call them phones but at 6+ inches are basically mini book sized). All OEMs do is merely find ways to make tablets more pocketable (zero bezels at first, folding phone later … etc)
