After churning out flagship killers and top of the line phones, rumors are that the OnePlus 5 is on its way with a beefier SoC and a whopping 8 GB of RAM. That’s not all. The OnePlus 5 is rumored to sport a dual camera setup, something many phone manufacturers are incorporating in their devices nowadays.
The OnePlus 5 is rumored to sport Snapdragon 835, the latest in the line of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. This means that it will have the Adreno 540 GPU, meaning smooth-as-butter graphics performance. OnePlus has followed a design strategy that has worked for them since the OnePlus One, the original flagship killer. And they have built on it to churn out really good devices.
Following the same design principle, the OnePlus 5 will likely have a 5.5 inch quad HD (2560 x 1440). Yes, you read that right, a quad HD display, making it the first OnePlus phone to feature a resolution that high. The dual camera setup is something major brands are trying to perfect with only a few succeeding in it. How OnePlus handles it, only time will tell.

Mediocre/average battery life has been the biggest negative for me with all OnePlus phones introduced this far, compared to Xiaomi’s comparable offerings, which is why I haven’t bought one yet.

If Xiaomi doesn’t offer US LTE on the Mi6, I will buy my first ever OnePlus. I am currently using a Mi Mix which is an awesome phone.
I see they have some US LTE bands on the 128 GB Note 2. The Mix would be too big for me. Won’t go above 5.7. Will consider Mi 6 plus if minimal bezels.
The Mix has some too, it works for me on tmobile. As for the size of it, even though its a 6.4 inch phone, it’s the size of many 5.7 inch phones (and some 5.5).
At 81.9 cm wide the Mix is wider than Huawei’s 6 inch Mate 8 at 80.6 cm. Too big for me.
In the hand though it feels the same size as the Mate 8. It never feels like a 6.4 inch phone. In fact it’s actually very similar in size to the iPhone 7 Plus.
No doubt it is smaller than the first 6.44 inch phone, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra that was 92.2 mm wide but still too big for me.
Yeah Xiaomi Mi6, OnePlus 4 (unless its called the 5) or ZTE Axon 8 (if it materialises) will be the showdown for me

I ditched the Robin for the Honor 8 and LeEco Le S3. Currently I still use the LeEco and Mix but will be replacing the LeEco with either Mi6 or OnePlus 4/5. I always have two phones.
I got the Mix as a gift from a Xiaomi supplier I was working with. It is a great phone for the most part. I hate the front camera placement and I am always afraid I am going to drop it and shatter the screen. I would love to see some design cues carry over to other Xiaomi phones but I would like them to keep some bezel.
Out of interest what do you use 2 phones for ?
One is my personal phone, the other is for work. I own my own business per se, so I like to have a second phone for it.
Plus i just really like phones haha.

I am sure there will be but not till this summer. The Axon 7 was announced in June last year, the original Axon was announced around July and released in September.

I understand your fear of dropping your device ^^ I’d have bought it if the camera wasn’t so weak… it’s a shame to sell a flagship with a badly optimized mid-range sensor, even for Xiaomi.
I’ll stick to my V10, waiting for One+ 5 release. Except if Find 9 is confirmed meanwhile.
Why don’t you get a single phone with dual SIM for your personal / professional activities and buy it as a professional device to get back VAT ?
I have tried to use dual sim in the past I just don’t like it.
But I usually don’t have to worry about VAT. My main business is PR and I work with a lot of Chinese tech companies. So I always end up with at least two free phones a year. Sometimes in the case of the Mix they are good, other times it will be a brand even I have never heard of before.
