Meizu’s newest smartphone, the Meizu E2 will launch on the 26th April and looks set to feature a never seen before design feature.

If you look back to the Meizu Pro 6 then you will remember that if featured a small, but notable design innovation. On the rear, the phone came with a 10 x LED ring rather than the typical dual LED designs we have come to expect from smartphones.

Now for the Meizu E2, the companies newest smartphone, it looks like Meizu has taken that LED ring technology and integrated it in a way we haven’t seen in a smartphone before.

Leaked designs, along with a leaked spy photo, show that Meizu has placed the LED ring around the actual camera sensor on their newest phone. This does mean the rear of the phone is exceptionally clean but we wonder if the flash might interfere with the camera’s low-light performance?

If Meizu has changed the rear in such a radical way, how can they have done something similar to the front?

One suggest is that Meizu has added a front facing LED flash t the Meizu E2, a feature we’ve seen on other Chinese phones but never on a Meizu. It’s also possible that the home button of the Meizu E2 will receive LED notification lights too.
