With the Android tablet market taking off like it has in China and elsewhere in the world we don’t get to see too many laptops from Chinese companies but when we do they are usually clones of popular brands such as this Intel i3 equipped 14 inch Sony Vaio Clone!
Manufactured by Shenzhen Rawai and branded as either a Sony Vaio clone or under their own Lavi brand, this 14 inch laptop actually looks surprisingly good on paper.
Unlike most Chinese laptops which still use Intel’s low-cost, low power and low performance Atom CPU’s this Sony Vaio clone gets a much more capable Intel I3 CPU clocked at 2.3Ghz and comes with 2GB RAM as standard (more can be installed aftermarket).

This Vaio clone also has a DVD drive too which other companies have started to drop after seeing the success of Apple’s Macbook Air’s which don’t have optical drives. Although I personally never use my DVD drive I know a few people who still do and still like to have the option.
The 14 inch screen has a resolution of 1344 x 768 above which sits a high-definition web camera. There are also built-in HDMI out, VGA out, 3 x USB, 3G card slot and a 4400mAh battery. The hardwire is a 320GB non SSD model
interesting, but I’d strongly talk anyone out of even thinking about it. Name brand Notebooks are not expensive these days, why risk it with a clone?
You are looking at a lifetime of issues with drivers etc. I have a real Vaio and let me tell you that it’s been a real headache even with the real deal. Too many hours spent on the phone to Sony with issues like it can’t hibernate, the screen wont dim, the keyboard backlight wont work, etc. Each time I had to reinstall drivers in different order etc. To even contemplate this on a fake Sony without tech support – got to be crazy!
Mind you, you didn’t mention the price. For $300 you might risk it. Any more than that, you are better off buying a cheap Acer.
