Well this isn’t a surprise is it? Huawei unveiled earlier today their latest Honor family addition, called Huawei Honor 9 and it surely looks beautiful – to me at least 😉
The new Huawei Honor 9 packs a 5.15” 1080p display, with DCI-P3 color space (also used on the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8), its dimensions are 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45mm and weighs around 155 grams. As we already knew, the device is equipped with a 2.4GHz octa-core Kirin 960 chipset, packing 6GB of RAM and will be available in 64GB/128GB internal storage options. The device boots up on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top.
Gizchina News of the week
It has an impressive dual camera on the back – a combo of 12MP and 20MP sensors – featuring 2x optical zoom, portrait and bokeh modes, along with an 8MP selfie camera in front. It packs a 3100 mAh battery with fast charging support, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n ac, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Huawei Pay service compatibility!
The impressive device will be priced at 2299 yuan ($ 338) for the 6GB RAM+64GB ROM version, while the higher-end variant i.e with 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version should cost 2999 yuan ($441).
What do you think guys?
3200mAh battery.
I’d like an explanation of why the Honor 9, with its slightly smaller display than the Honor 8 (5.15 vs 5.2) is nearly 2 mm longer/taller than the Honor 8. The same is true of the Xiaomi Mi 6 vs Mi 5 – the new one is longer, not as compact. Must be trying to squeeze more technology into them I imagine. Unfortunately, Samsung has made these long tall Sally’s acceptable to many people, but not to me. However Samsung at least has the excuse of offering a much larger display. So, why is Huawei stretching the Honor 9 when its display is smaller?
Probably since Fingerprint sensor is on the front/bottom instead of on the back. They made up for that by increasing battery size slightly, but top/bottom bezels grew a tiny bit. At this price though, the phone seems very competitive.
Huawei P10 is shorter and less wide than Honor 9. So its not the front finger print.
