Top 5 Chinese Smartphones for Under $200
LeEco Le Max 2 x829
Yes, we know this phone is more than an year old but the LeEco Le Max 2 is just too good to let it go off this list. The handset does indeed feature one of the most powerful CPU on the market still, we’re talking about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (non expandable).
LeEco’s Le Max 2 comes with an high resolution 21MP camera on the back with OIS (optical stabilization) and F/2.0 aperture. The phone sports a big 5.7-inch 1440x2560px display, 4G LTE connectivity (but no band 20) and there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack; its battery has a capacity of 3100mAh.
The Le Max 2 can be considered a flagship even by today’s standards and you can get it under $200 on many online stores if you do a little research.
Lenovo ZUK Z2
Just like the LeEco Le Max 2, also the Lenovo ZUK Z2 is an older phone with impressive hardware at an incredibly low price.
The Lenovo ZUK Z2 does indeed feature the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (also not expandable) specs combo but in a smaller 5-inch phone with Full HD resolution.
Camera wise we find a 13MP Samsung S5K2M8 rear shooter with F/2.2 aperture and an 8MP OmniVision OV8865 camera on the back. The phone does sport 4G LTE connectivity but also here there’s no band 20 (somewhat crucial in many countries) and its battery has a capacity of 3500mAh, which is quite good for a device with this footprint.
Oukitel K10000 Pro
We cannot make a list without a proper battery phone for those whose only desire is amazing battery life, for this reason we’ve decided to add the Oukitel K10000 Pro — the handset with the biggest battery on the market, currently.
The Oukitel K10000 Pro does come with quite good hardware as well though, we indeed find a MediaTek MT6750T clocked at 1.5Ghz, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM (expandable through microSD). The phone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a solidly built body with metal and Australian calf leather parts; it’s also really heavy at 292 grams but that’s mostly due to the big 10100mAh battery.
Oukitel’s K10000 Pro supports 4G LTE connectivity, including band 20 and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X
Gizchina News of the week
Another obvious phone to make it on the list is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, the handset is still a great option for those on a tight budget who still want a well made device with quality hardware and supported software.
The Redmi Note 4X in particular also features the super power efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, so battery life is another great plus on this phone. Other than that we find 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable).
Cameras aren’t too bad neither, with a 13MP rear camera boasting a wide F/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. The phone works on 4G networks but there’s no band 20 support, meanwhile the battery has a capacity of 4100mAh which paired with the aforementioned processor should bring stellar battery life.
Xiaomi Redmi 4X
Just like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, also the Xiaomi Redmi 4X is hard to avoid mentioning. This handset is just one of the best alternatives for those who want an amazing device while spending less than $200 and potentially even less than $150 depending on the version.
In this list we decided to talk about the version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as it still falls under the $200 ceiling. This phone features 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435. As far as cameras go, we find a 13MP shooter on the back with F/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie shooter.
The ordinary Xiaomi Redmi 4X supports 4G LTE connectivity on lots of bands, except band 20, but it’s also available in a global version which supports the latter. Autonomy wise, we have a big 4100mAh and it runs MIUI V8 based on Android Marshmallow.

Mi5
I haven’t seen this for under $200 yet. Where are you finding it for this price?
Hk, I ordered 64gb version for 180e at gearbest.com but now it looks more expensive 🙁 looks like xiaomi are ending with mi5 production
Ah, that’s a great price for the mi5. Glad you were able to snag one.
K10000 is a terrible option unless you really really need the endurance. A phone like the Umi Z or Vernee Apollo X would be better for Mediatek side.
