Elephone’s latest camera phone — the Elephone P8 mini — is a really affordable device with some rather decent hardware. But how good is that if basic features such as GPS positioning do not perform well?
To prove that the P8 mini is on-par with more expensive devices, the Chinese company has just released a video showing how good the handset’s GPS works; let’s check it out down below.

As we can see in the video, the guys over at Elephone open up a GPS app on the P8 mini, then enable GPS location and wait for the GPS satellites to lock in, using a stopwatch to keep track of time. Surprisingly enough the budget-friendly phone finds the satellites in just over a second and locks position few moments after. Which is quite a good result for a device in this price range.

This is decently fast indeed! My $250 smartphone takes more time than this :/
The real question is, can it mantain the fix? Can it be accurate and quick to update the position?

It’s becoming more interesting with every new video clips. It’s amazing that such a low prize device can manage everything so fast!
The real question is, can it mantain the fix? Can it be accurate and quick to update the position? How long it fixes it’s not a true measure of GPS performance.
