Elephone just announced their latest Elephone P8 camera-phone will get an upgraded version that comes with glasses-free 3D technology. This isn’t the first time we see it, indeed the HTC G17 launched in 2011 sported the same feature. But this kind of technology hasn’t really sticked and it’s almost disappeared.
So why did Elephone decide to reintroduce this tech on their P8 3D? Well, they did add something to make it much more appealing — eye-tacking. Elephone say that with eye-tacking technology it’s possible to increase light transmittance and adjust the 3D image according to the users eyes position, allowing a wider 70-degree 3D view.

The field of view is also increased from 30 to 60cm, which means a better overall experience for the users and avoids feeling dizzy.
Elephone will be naming this phone Elephone P8 3D and it seems as they’re still in the testing stage. But they’re confident they’ll be able to bring this 3D glasses-free to the market very soon.

Hopefully they will bring naked eye 3D as a revolutionary change in smartphones. So that we don’t need to go to theatres to watch 3D movies wearing glasses.
