Dual rear camera Lenovo K8 Note hits India with a starting price of 13k INR

It certainly looks like GizChina readers are going to be importing from India, besides just China, in the coming months and years. After all, the market is one of the hottest, especially with a bunch of value-for-money devices showing up every now and then.

The newest in this category is the Lenovo K8 Note that was just announced in India. The phone will attempt to take on the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 among other budget phablets. The highlight of the device is on its rear — where it has a dual camera setup.

Lenovo K8 Note Specifications

Let’s have a look at the official Lenovo K8 Note specifications, as specified by the manufacturer:

Gizchina News of the week

  • 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p display
  • MediaTek MT6797 processor
  • 3/32 and 4/64 variants (RAM/ROM)
  • 13 MP + 5 MP rear camera
  • 13 MP front camera with flash
  • 4000mAh battery
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Dimensions: 154.5 x 75.9 x 8.5mm

From the spec sheet, the phone does look like a device that could challenge any other phone in its price range. It’ll be interesting to see how that turns out in real life.

The 3GB/32GB version of the phone is priced at 12,999 INR ($200) while the higher-end 4GB/64GB variant of the K8 Note gets a 13,999 INR price tag ($216). The phone will be available via Amazon with the first sale on the 18th this month.

Lenovo missed the Trick…Mediatek SOC’s carry a so so rep in India. This phone was touted as Kille Note, obvious target the No 1, Redmi Note 4, but this one just because of the SOC will not be able to fulfil Lenovo desire to beat Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

I only can predict just a couple of million pieces sales that too, if the dual camera really is upto the mark and not just a marketing gimmick.

Lenovo always use a backdated Mediatek SOC. They could have used P25. Why they go for SOC already used by others? There are at least two beautiful phones from Huawei-honor 6x 64gb for 13999/- and honor 8 lite 64gb for 15200/- at Amazon. Two beautiful phones with all haves and nice cameras. Mediatek SOCs are used in almost all Feature phones in India and Feature phone users are maximum. I am using Xiaomi Note 4 MTK Helio x20 processor. It’s a nice phone but the processor is old now with 20nm process. P25 could have been the processor. Though it is better than 625 snapdragon processor of Xiaomi Note 4 India release in processing. So, I imported this phone from Tinydeal. Definitely k8 will be better than Xiaomi Note 4 India edition and it has dual cameras and the front camera should arguably be better than Xiaomi Note 4.
