Mi Mix 2 front panel leaks, along with new info

It’s Xiaomi’s day today and more specifically it’s all about Mi Mix 2 as you’ve probably guessed. While we wait for the days to pass by until the September 11 unveiling event of the Mi Mix 2, some leaks keep coming our way – so it’s really hard not to pay attention.

Gizchina News of the week

The latest leak from Weibo (once again) basically confirms what we knew about the super slim bezels of the upcoming model, and shows the front panel of the device! The latest rumors insist that the phone will have a smaller display (6 inches in size possibly) – a bit smaller than the 6.4 screener the original Mi Mix packed. The user interface will be MIUI 9, based on Android Nougat 7.1.1 and will support 3D facial recognition.

Despite what unconfirmed rumors suggest, the device is expected to pack a Snapdragon 835 SoC, a 4500 mAh battery and 256GB storage. Stay tuned, it will be made official on September 11.

I just commented on this phone elsewhere, saying it is way too wide. Compare it with the Samsung Galaxy S8+ — same display size – 6.2 inches (According to GSM Arena). The S8+ is less than 1 mm taller than the Mix but it is much less wide – 73.4 mm versus 81.9 mm for the Mix – can’t understand why the Mix is so wide with the same display size?? What is the point? Surely, we want bezel-free phones to be narrower than their bezel-full counterparts to give us a larger display with less width for ease of holding!

still we dont know the exact size of mix, gsmarena isnt reliable source for china devices before its released, s8 or any 2:1 aspect ratio phone maintain smaller width but crops out the videos and photos on both sides. personnally i dont want that to happen. its a choice of aspect ratio. im fully comfortable with full ratios as i have pretty wide hands. even s8 is easier to handle, that cropping annoys me.

OK, If GSM Arena is wrong about the size, then so am I.

Huge battery, simple as that, compare with the small one on the S8+
