Nokia 9 to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, fresh renders reveals

Nokia 9

The upcoming Nokia 9 flagship hasn’t been teased officially by HMD, but we have seen leaked images/renders and specifications of the device on more than one occasion. Although many would expect the device to drop before year-end, the latest information available to us suggests the device might have to wait till early 2018 when it will be unveiled alongside Nokia 2 and 7. A new set of leaked images has surfaced online courtesy of OnLeaks giving us a better look at HMD’s upcoming flagship.

The leaked images spotted on compareraja are supposed to be based on CAD files of the Nokia phone that show the device in glossy blue color. It is clearly evident from the images that the Nokia 9 will ditch the headphone jack in favor of USB Type-C, Something Apple was clearly criticized for, even though Google followed suit with the Pixel 2.

Gizchina News of the week

The leaked images go further to suggest that the upcoming flagship Nokia will feature a dual rear camera with a slight bump. We are not certain what the pixel count could be, but there are speculations both may feature 13MP sensors. As per available information, the Nokia 9 will come in at 140.9×72.9×7.5mm, while the camera bump on the rear will take the thickness to exactly 8.9mm. The device is speculated to come with a 5.5-inch bezel-free display with a rear fingerprint sensor and will boot Android Oreo out of the box.

While we presently have no clue about the Nokia 9’s pricing, unveiling date, and availability, we are certain its expected premium specs and features could jack up the price to a near Samsung Galaxy S8 pricing. We will keep you posted, as more details emerge.

To expensive and no 3.5 headphone jack. Sorry this is not Nokia I knew once. My choice is with anothers with better price/quality/headphone jack choice.

They’re new in smartphone business and they’re already removing features instead of adding them to even make people interested?! lol

This company is long time dead and won’t be revived because other competitors like Samsung/LG/Sony/Huawei/OnePlus have many advantages over this in every aspect and now including headphone jack.
