Amoi have teamed up with Chinese software maker 360 once again to launch a dual-core smart phone, but dual core’s aren’t the only things the Amoi N809 is rocking as this 4.3 inch phone gets dual batteries!
When creating a phone which can handle the average users routine while having enough power to last a whole day can be a challenge for phone companies, but Chinese brand Amoi have taken the bull by the horns and said ‘if one battery isn’t enough we’ll have 2″!
At the heart of the N809 are 2 batteries the main being 1630 mAh while the smaller one is a 900mAh battery giving the N809 a total capacity of 2530.
On the performance side we have a dual-core MT6577 1Ghz CPU, 512mb RAM, 4GB RAM, a rear 5 mega-pixel camera and a low resolution 0.3mp front camera.
Gizchina News of the week
The display is a 4.3 inch TFT unit with a resolution of 800 x 480.
As you can see from the specs the Amoi N809 is more of an endurance phone rather than an all out performance a gaming beast!
This can be backed up by the fact that Amoi haven’t even given the N809 the latest version of Android and this dual-battery phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread!
If you are the type of phone user who prides battery life above performance, specs and keeping up to date with the latest OS trends then the N809 if for you.
If you are like me and want a powerful phone with latest OS you better look elsewhere!
The Amoi N809 will go on sale soon and will cost 999 Yuan ($159)
Hi, what about being hotswappable? I mean, can you take one of the batteries out without shut down? Quite interesting for my wife: needs long battery life and not so much power.
So the price is the same as the JiaYu G3, but even with dual batteries it’s below specs, less battery power, less RAM, less screen, antique Android.
If they’d done it right, it should be like 2x1630Mah (or more), 1GB RAM, at lease QHD screen and of course Android 4.1. And then 999 Yuan would be cheap.
BTW, they should use 2 identical batteries. To use different ones is a really big fail.
+1
Why put 2 small batteries? Instead put one big battery, 3000 mAh for example.
agree with you, or if they going to put 2 batt there, at least put the same type battery and hot swappable, so we can change with the fresh one one the fly..
and… what !?!? ginger bread 😮
They couldn’t fit one large battery in the design. So they went for 2 smaller batteries
not good enough why to bateries if can use only 1 high capacity like 2700 mha
is there an other phone with wcdma 850?!
Unless Amoi give a desktop charger for both batts then it will be useless. I believe the batt is hot swappable for a phone non-stop usage
