Nokia announced the Beta Labs for their Android phones, under which Nokia 8 users were offered a chance to beta test the Android Oreo update. In a tweet they revealed that the beta testing phase is over and the official rollout will begin soon.

The Nokia 8 is Nokia’s flagship phone for 2017. It features a 5.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Under the hood lies the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with the Adreno 540. The 8 is available in two memory variants, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM both of which are explandable upto 256GB via microSD card.
On the back lies a dual camera setup of 13MP sensors with laser and phase detection autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, OIS and a dual tone flash. On the front lies a 13MP sensor with phase detection autofocus.
There is no solid date confirming as to when the Android 8.0 Oreo update will start rolling out, but it is likely by the end of the year that all the Nokia 8 smartphones will be updated. The fast updates are thanks to the near stock android experience which is now becoming a trend, with brands like Xiaomi becoming a part of the Android program to deliver the same.
