A mysterious transparent back cover pegged to be that of the Xiaomi Mi6X, alleged sibling to the Mi6 has been posted on Slashleaks. The Mi6X was speculated to be the immediate successor to the Mi6, although Xiaomi denied the existence of any such device.
The leak shows a transparent back cover that follows a completely different design methodology as compared to the Mi6. There is a vertically aligned setup of dual cameras, mimicking the placement of the iPhone X camera. This is not surprising, since Xiaomi’s earlier smartphones have been highly inspired by Apple devices, with Xiaomi even earning the title of “Apple of China”. The fingerprint scanner lies on the back of the phone. This can mean that the alleged Mi6X will either have a full-screen display or Xiaomi might have chosen to change the placement of the fingerprint scanner. The possibility of the former is high considering the current market scenario where screen to body ratio takes more precedence over any other hardware aspect.
Gizchina News of the week
Xiaomi has denied the existence of the Mi6X but it would be nice to see a bumped up or toned down version of the Mi6 with a full-screen display. There is no other source to verify the credibility of this leak, so we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.
