Xiaomi resumes Android Oreo update for the Xiaomi Mi A1

Xiaomi Mi A1

Xiaomi had announced the rollout of Android Oreo Update for the Xiaomi Mi A1 on the last day of 2017, the company, however, halted the rollout as a result of some odious bugs. The company as it had promised after the recall has once again started rolling out Android Oreo update to the Xiaomi Mi A1 devices.

Gizchina News of the week

The latest update with version number OPR1.170623.026.8.1.10 aside from fixing some reported bugs bumps the Android Security patch to that of January 2018. Specifically, the update takes care of the Bluetooth Battery drain issues, random reboots, Unresponsiveness of dialer app, restored fingerprint gestures and removes SIM HD notification. Some users are however still complaining about a slow camera app.

The update is about 90MB in size for those whose device is running on the stalled Oreo update, while it is a huge 1112.4MB for the Mi A1 devices still running on Nougat. The update is gradually rolling out and might take a little while before it gets to your device. We advise you make plans for data backup just in case something unpalatable occurs.
