The biggest and most obvious trend currently hitting the smartphone industry is the effort to eliminate the bezel, or frame, that surrounds a phone’s display. The goal is to create the feeling that you’re only holding a screen in your hand and there’s nothing else to distract you from what’s being displayed on that screen. As you might have guessed from the article’s title, today we’re checking out what AllCall has done about that on the upcoming Mix2.
Let’s begin with the phone’s edge-to-edge display, this time in a more manageable 5.99-inches size with an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is similar to what Samsung and other companies are using on their high-end phones; the display itself is said to be a bright and vibrant LCD panel with wide color gamut and 2,160 x 1,080 pixels of resolution. It’ll also be coated in 2.5D curved glass on top for a more premium look and feel.

The Mix2 features rounded corners and slim bezels above and around the sides of the display. AllCall also promises that the display will have a 90% NTSC color gamut, a FHD+ “retina” res with an high 403 PPI count and a brightness 450cd/㎡; so we should get a quite good color reproduction and saturation which will make images pop-up on the screen. Using IPS and TFT technology, you will also be able to enjoy the display from very wide viewing angles as well.
If you are looking for smartphone in 2018, then the full screen design is probably a top priority. If that’s the case then AllCall’s Mix2 should have all the goodies you expect in a high-end handset. Aside from the 18:9 display we indeed also find a good and powerful chipset (Mediatek Helio P23), a fingerprint scanner, fast wireless charging and lots of memory (6GB RAM +128GB storage), all factors that make it a very interesting device.
