The first model of Oppo A71 was released back in September, however, it was a very quiet launch, and the smartphone short-lived company’s expectations. However, Oppo took the wraps off today to announce a revamped 2018 version of the smartphone at Pakistan.
The Oppo A71 (2018) brings some resemblances from its predecessor, but the processor was greatly improved. The Chinese company decided to replace the old MediaTek MT6750 with the newest power efficient Snapdragon 450. A rather odd change in the handset is the RAM amount, while last year edition carried 3GB of RAM, the 2018 A71 brings only 2GB of RAM.
The A71 carries those specs beneath a 5.2-inch HD Panel which follows the 16:9 standard. Camera wise the smartphone counts with a single 13MP f/2.2 rear camera and a 5MP f/2.4 front-facing snapper. In what comes to storage there are 16GB available, but if this isn’t enough for you, the memory can be further expanded via microSD card.
Gizchina News of the week
Lights are kept by the same 3,000mAh battery present on the 2017’s A71. Still talking about semblances, the smartphones brings the same design and form factor measuring 148.1 x 73.8 x 7.6 mm, and also weighing at the same 137g.
The Phone’s software is the ColorOS 3.2 which runs atop of Android Nougat 7.1.2. However, the company is bringing a special new UI that differs from the ColorOS 3.1 featured in the original OPPO A71. The Oppo A71 (2018) also brings Oppo’s “AI Beauty Recognition Technology.”
“AI Beauty Recognition Technology is based on a global image database that serves as an experienced photographer, who knows your beauty and will offer the most suitable beautify effect for you.”
Lastly, but not least the smartphone will be offered in two color variants – Black and Gold. On Pakistan, the Oppo A71 (2018) carries a PKR 19,899 ($179) price tag, but the price can differ once the phone gets released in India, what seems imminent. Based on the listed specifications, do you think that the replacement of the processor and the oddly 1GB RAM removal, are enough to consider this phone as a good deal?
