In a couple of days at MWC 2018, we will probably see multiple devices with the flagship SD845 chipset and amongst them will be Xiaomi Mi 7 and Mi MIX 2S. Nevertheless, not every smartphone user will be able to afford flagship devices and that is why it is pertinent for manufacturers to make provision for top-notch mid-range devices. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is one of such expected mid-range smartphones and exclusive information from XDA developers suggests that this smartphone chip will be the king of mid-range smartphones – Snapdragon 660.
In addition, the reports also suggest that the battery capacity will be up to 5500mAh thus we are looking at a minimum of 15 hours average working time. Anything less than an 18:9 aspect ratio display would have been disappointing for this huge 7-inch device.
Surprisingly, the “wireless charging” parameter appeared in the firmware. This feature is expected in flagship Xiaomi Mi 7 but the Max 3 will sport same. This implies that the back of the Xiaomi Max 3 will be designed to suit the wireless charging feature probably with a glass material and the industrial design has to be adjusted as well.
Gizchina News of the week
A configuration file also revealed what the camera department of this device will look like. The rear will most likely come with a dual camera setup with either an IMX363 from Sony or an S5K217+S5K5E8 Samsung dual camera setup. For selfies, S5K4H7 from Samsung will do the job but it seems like an auxiliary imaging sensor – an iris scanner will be available too. This sensor will be OmniVision 2281 which “leverages a 1.12-micron pixel with PureCel technology to enable accurate, reliable iris recognition for smartphones, tablets, and notebooks”
The firmware suggests the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. This device still retains the IR blaster, memory card expansion, support for aptX HD high-fidelity Bluetooth audio transmission.
I’m waiting for this phone… However, I wish it would have a 16:9 ratio and not 18:9. I previously had a 7″ phone and in terms of ergonomics the length is more problematic than the width – hence I prefer a 16:9 ratio which gives more screen real estate, less length and is more suitable for any kind of media consumption.
I agree 18/9 is garbage…way too narrow.
I would like that they keek 16:9 aspect ratio and shrink the display down to 6″.
it’s the mi max, for small screens please look somewhere else
Lol I am holding it, not looking at it & ot would be much easier doing so if it whose narrower for 7~8 mm.
Venha rápido tô louco para comprar ele.
Apenas seja paciente. Você vai chegar em breve … hahahaha

I agree 18/9 is garbage…way too narrow. in fact 1920×1200 1.6 ratio is the best for 7 but then it would look like a tablet

There is no way I’m going use a screen smaller than 6’44 screen! My second phone is a mediapad x2 7″ of pure hapiness,, I had a bluboo maya I gave it to my wife. Once you go big you never go back.
