Say Hi to this “Notched” Honor 10 prototype

No matter how much you hate the “notch” concept in smartphones, it was first introduced by Apple with its iPhone X and most of the companies aren’t shy of inserting this design language into their newest smartphones. Huawei has just recently released both Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, the pair of flagships bring on the front a bezel-less panel with a top-notch.

Well, apparently the Chinese company has yet another smartphone with a top-notch planned for 2018. A few pictures leaked today revealing an alleged Honor 10 prototype that shares some semblances with the recently released P20 duo. Those pictures came from no other place than Huawei’s homeland, China.

Gizchina News of the week

Although the smartphone is encased in a move to hide some details of its design, (What apparently didn’t work well for them, after all, it got leaked) we can spot a dual camera setup on the device’s rear part. On the front, we have a tall display that should have a 19:9 proportion due to the top-notch presence. On the bottom part, there is a physical home button, that should also house the fingerprint sensor.

We can’t affirm the reliability of this leak, neither if this smartphone is, in fact, the upcoming Honor 10. However, we wouldn’t discard the chances of a top-notch in the Huawei’s sub-brand upcoming device. Love it or hate it, the notch is a reality and more companies are about to adopt it on their future smartphones, at least until “someone” figure a practical way of going bezel-less without that design-breaking choice.

Well at least you should know that “notch” was introduced first by Essential phone months before Apple.

At first, Apple would copy what new technology was available on the market and make it better, showing the world how things should be done, now, they’re just making “innovations” for the sake of making up reasons for people to switch to a newer model. A sad state of events indeed, especially when many manufacturers bluntly copy their less accepted moves (Like ditching the 3.5mm jack)
Why can’t manufacturers copy the iPhone SE and release a smaller screen phone (18:9 4.7 inch screen would look cool)
