The Huawei P20 Pro, coming soon to India
Huawei’s P20 Pro is undoubtedly the hottest device on the market right now. Comparisons to every other flagship aside, the device is fantastic in many aspects, especially camera performance. We’d love to get a review unit, but for now we’ll just wait for the day Huawei brings the device to India. Which may not be too long from now as Huawei India’s Twitter teases us with P20 Pro promo material.
The Twitter posts features a video and a question, “Is it a phone? Is it a DSLR?”. We’re pretty confident it’s just a phone, but Huawei insists “It is the best of both worlds!”, so I guess that’s that. There’s no official launch date for the device yet, though we expect it to arrive sometime later this month. After all, it’s unlikely Huawei wants to delay the launch of their best device in one of the biggest smartphone markets.

Despite what we’ve just said, this is also a somewhat surprising move for the company. While Huawei’s always had a presence in India, they’ve almost exclusively sold Honor devices there to appeal to the budget and mid-range markets. This will be the first time in a long time that the company officially releases a Huawei device under the Huawei mantle in India. It’s nothing too exciting, though we’re eager to see just how the P20 Pro performs in India.
Until then, the Huawei P20 Pro remains the most impressive device from the company that you can’t get India. It still has its shortcomings in my eyes, but I can’t deny that it looks slick. How it’ll do in India hinges on how well Huawei understands marketing to the Indian market. I do feel that things like having no headphone jack will hurt its chances, but I’m no expert. How do you think the P20 Pro will do in India? Tell us down in the comments section below.
