During past days, we heard some surprising news concerning restrictions towards ZTE. As you know, the U.S. government denies China’s ZTE access to American technology for seven years. This simply meant no Qualcomm chips will be on the ZTE-branded devices. Plus, it can’t use Google’s Android OS. ZTE is a very popular brand in the domestic market. So many users have been wondering whether this restriction could spread over other manufacturers like ZTE. Smartisan is among them, undoubtedly. Today, Hao Yonghao, the company’s CEO was asked whether their software will affect because of this.
We know, on May 15, the company will hold a conference, where the company will release a new flagship named the Smartisan R1. It’s thought to be a revolutionary smartphone sporting many improved features including both enhanced hardware and software. The biggest selling point of that handset is said to be the new system, Smartisan OS. It integrates artificial intelligence technology and is expected to achieve over 200% increased efficiency.

However, Smartisan CEO, Hao Yonghao give a positive reply saying the US restrictions don’t refer to other Chinese smartphone makers. So Smartisan is out of the list and the new software will debut on the R1, as planned. Moreover, the Smartisan R1 is assumed to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chip clocked at 2.8GHz that is based on a 10nm process node and uses a Kryo 385 architecture. Thanks to such powerful features, it scores 270.000 at AnTuTu. That’s the best result.
