Xiaomi Mi 6X: Everything You Need to Know

Xiaomi Mi 6X

Today was the last day in which Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun could rehearse for the event happening tomorrow, April 25th, where we’ll have the much rumored Xiaomi Mi 6X finally see the light of day. Along with his presence, various specs and features of the upcoming mid-ranger got confirmed, so here’s a quick recap.

Design

Let’s begin with Xiaomi Mi 6X’s design. The smartphone is set to come with a full metal body along with antenna lines created through a nano injection molding process. The Mi 6X will also be available in five colors: cherry powder, red flame, sand gold, glacier blue and meteorite black.

Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 6X is going to sport a 5.99-inch display with Full HD+ (2160 × 1080) resolution, meanwhile under the hood we’ll find a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core CPU based on 14nm FinFET technology, along with an Adreno 512 GPU. Xiaomi’s handset is also set to pack up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Battery capacity will be slightly disappointing at just 2910mAh.

Gizchina News of the week

In the camera department, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will be boasting a dual camera setup consisting in 12MP plus 20MP image sensors, we can’t say yet which of the two will be the primary one though. The phone will also sport AI, just like the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, to recognize a subject and do some changes to improve the image overall. Finally, we’ll have a 20MP front camera for high res selfies along with Beauty AI to smoothen your skin and more.

Pricing

Xiaomi Mi 6X

The Xiaomi Mi 6X is expected to cost 1500 Yuan (around $237) for the cheaper variant and up to 2000 Yuan ($317) for the all-in specced out model. A quite interesting pricing considering how much phones with similar hardware usually cost (Elephone U Pro anyone?)

Conclusion

If the specs and pricing above were to be confirmed, would you guys be interested in getting the Xiaomi Mi 6X? Let us know in the comments below!

Why would xiaomi go with such small battery. Thats so disapointing. Other than that, bezells are still big and ugly (for “bezel-less” 2:1 aspect ratio display), just like on Redmi 5, Note 5 etc. I like metal unibody and USB type C (that both should have been on Note 5). I dunno, as long as camera is better than on Note 5, I would consider buying it.

My first comment is please stop using the in-your-face phrase “Everything you need to know.” Much less offensive and arrogant to say “all there is to know” or “all we know so far”. Anyway, compactness is important to me so I would need to know its dimensions and weight, also battery life. I read somewhere that the battery will be much smaller than the recent Redmi phones, making it a no-buy for me.
