After getting TENAA’s nodding a few days back, Xiaomi upcoming smartphone has now received the mandatory 3C approval in China. The device alleged to be the Xiaomi Redmi S2 bearing the model number M1803E6E has now received 3C certification in China, an indication that the device might hit the market soon.
The 3C certification usually doesn’t reveal any specs, but TENAA has revealed that the alleged Xiaomi Redmi S2 is virtually a replica of the Mi 6X, albeit a slight difference in the design of the antenna lines. However, looking at the almost certain specs, we can say it is not as able as the Mi 6X.
Gizchina News of the week
As per TENAA’s listing, the alleged Xiaomi Redmi S2 is expected to feature a 6.0-inch HD display and will be powered by an unnamed processor with 2GHz maximum clock speed, which may turn out to be the Snapdragon 625 or 630. The device will be available in three RAM and storage variants – 2GB RAM+16GB storage, 3GB+32GB storage, and a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage combo.
The camera on the reverse side will be a 12MP + 8MP dual camera combo, while a single 16MP shooter will sit above the display. It is expected to be fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery and will run Android 8.0 Oreo with MIUI 9 out of the box.
If the TENAA listing is correct, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 will come in White, Silver, Gray, Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Blue, Red, and Pink color variants.
We do not have any information regarding its release, but having passed TENAA and now the 3C, we expect the device to go official soon.
